is
adequate
clearance under all operating conditions.

WARNING:
Never operate the tractor

with a loose wheel
rim
or disc. Always
tighten nuts
to
the
specified
torque
and at the
rec-
ommended intervals. Owners should ensure that
all steering components are
maintained in a
reli-
able
and
satisfactory condition
to
ensure safe
op-
eration and comply with legal requirements.
When
refitting
or
adjusting a wheel, tighten the
bolts
to
the following torques then recheck after
driving the tractor for 200
yards
{200 m), after
1 hour and 8 hours operation and thereafter, at
the
50 hour seivice intetvals:
Disc to hub nuts
200 lbf.ft. (270 Nm)
Disc
to
rim nuts 177 lbf.ft (240 Nm)
NOTE: At
the
smaller track settings afoul
condi-
tion may occur between the tire and tractor
when
the wheels
are
turned to
the
full lock position par-
ticularly
when
the axle
is
fully articulated.

the
steering
stops.
Two steering stops are incotp0rated
in
the axle,
one each
end.
The stops are adjustable
and
should
be
set
to
prevent the tires touching
the
tractor on
full left and right lock with
the
axle fully
articu~
lated.

To adjust, slacken
the
locknut
and
tum
the stop
bolt
counter-clockwise
to
reduce
the
st.eering
an-
gle
of
the wheels
or
clockwise to increase the
steering
angle.
Tighten the
locknut
With the wheels in the straight
ahead
posidon,
check
the
front wheel toe-in.
The
correct
toe-in is
0-
0.25 in.
(0-
6 mm) measured
at
the
wheel rim
at hub height.
Should it
be
necessary
lo
adjust
the
front wheel
toe-in,
proceed
as
follows:
Loosen
the
clamp bolt, Figure 41,
on
each
track
control rod. Tum the hexagon adjuster
to
screw
the
threaded
rod
into
or
out
of
the
track control
rod,
as
necessary.
Ensu~
this adjusttnent is carried out
equally
on
both
track
rods
in
order to achieve
the
specified
toe-in.
