Vehicles with one cross-axle lock on the rear
axleare equipped with the i switch.Vehi-
cleswithmorethanone differential lock are
equipped with the : switch for the inter-
axledifferential lock and with the 9 switch
for the cross-axle differential locks.
When the differential lock is engaged,the dis-
play shows £.Whenthe differential lock is
disengaged, the displayshows v.Ifthe
£ dotinthe displayisflashing, the differ-
ential lock hasnot yetengaged/disengaged.
The conditions for engaging/disengaging have
not been fulfilled,e.g.due to differingwheel
rotational speeds.The differential lock is auto-
maticallyengaged as soonasall gearshift con-
ditions have been fulfilled.
Engage the differential locks to improvetrac-
tion, e.g.onslipperyroadsurfaces or off-road.
The individual differential locks can onlybe
engaged in sequence.
During an ABS braking regulation, the inter-
axlelockisdisengagedand the dotflashesin
the display. Once the ABS regulation is fin-
ished, the inter-axle lock is re-engaged.
Activating

Stop the vehicle.

Press the uppersectionofthe i switch.
The cross-axle lock on the rearaxleis
engaged.The indicator lamps in the i
switch and in the instrument cluster light
up.

Press the : button.
The indicator lamp in the : button lights
up.The inter-axle lock is engaged.

Press the 9 button.
The indicator lamp in the 9 button lights
up.The cross-axle locks on the rearaxles
areengaged.

The respectivedifferential lock is only
engaged when the displayshows £.
Deactivating
X
Press the i button.
The indicator lamp in the i button and
the message in the displaydisappear.The
cross-axle lock on the rearaxleisdisen-
gaged.

Press the 9 button.
The indicator lamp in the 9 button goes
out. The cross-axle locks on the rearaxles
aredisengaged.

Press the : button.
The indicator lamps in the 9 and :
buttons go out. The differential locks are
disengaged. The differential lock indicators
in the displaygoout.
