By settingthe speedtolerance, you define by
how muchthe set speedmay be exceeded
(Y page 127).
Driving
Driving tips
You can decelerate usingthe continuous
brake. Cruisecontrolremains activated.
If you reset thecontinuous brakelever, but do
notdeactivate it, thevehicle will accelerate on
inclines up to theset speed.
If thecontinuous brakeisdeactivated, the
vehicle will accelerate to thelast stored
speed.
If cruise control is deceleratingthe vehicle
usingthe continuous brakeand you simultane-
ously depress thebrakepedal, cruise control
remains activated.
If thebraking power from thecontinuous
brakeisinsufficient:

Shift down agear and reduce your speed.
If you shiftdown on adownhill gradient
without adjusting thespeed, cruise control
setsanenginespeedlower than theengine
overspeed. The set speedremains set and is
automaticallyre-established as soon as this
is possible in ahigher gear.
The vehicle is braked by thecontinuous brake
automaticallyif:

cruise control is activated and
R
thevehicle speedexceeds theset speedby
morethanthe speedtolerance
When thecontinuous brakeisactivated and
you activatecruise control, thecontinuous
brakeregulatesthe set speedondownhill
slopes.
Overtaking
It is possible to exceedthe set speed, e.g.
when overtaking:

Depress theacceleratorpedal.
X
When theovertakingmaneuverisfinished,
release theacceleratorpedal again.
Cruisecontroladjuststhe vehicle's speedto
theset speed.
Deactivating
The speedremains storedifyou deactivate
cruise control.

Press the o button.
