Under the following circumstances, the cam-
eras will not function, or will function in alimi-
ted manner:
R
if there is heavy rain, snow or fog
R
if the area is lit by fluorescent light or LED
lighting. The displaymay flicker.
R
if the lenses of the camera are dirty or cov-
ered. Observe the notes on cleaning
(Y page 158).
R
if the vehicle componentsinortowhich the
cameras are mounted are damaged. In this
event, have the camera position and setting
checked at aqualified specialist workshop
immediately.
Pay particular attention in these situations.
You could otherwise injure others during your
maneuver or objects may damage the vehicle.
If there is amalfunction, more specificallyif
the front camera fails, have the camera sys-
tem repaired at aqualified specialist workshop
immediately.
The position of the monitor and front camera
as well as the factory settings of the monitor
must not be changed. Otherwise, the function
of Blind Spot Assist is not guaranteed.
The field of vision for the two blind spot cam-
eras may be minimally adjusted. Each cam-
era's housing may be adjusted to adegree if
you employ considerable force. Daimler Trucks
North America recommends that you have this
work carried out at aqualified specialist work-
shop.

Observe the information on the monitor in the
operating instructionsprovided by the manu-
facturer.

Up to aspeed of approximately 6mph
(10 km/h) monitor : will always displaythe
front camera image.
From aspeed of approximately 6mph
(10 km/h) monitor : displays the camera
image of the selected displaycontrol –auto-
matic or manual mode.

Turn the key to the drive position in the igni-
tion lock.

To selectautomatic mode: when indicator
lamp C lights up, push the control lever in
the direction of arrow ;.
Indicator lamp C goes out and automatic
mode is activated.
Monitor : automaticallydisplays the cam-
era images best suited to the traffic situa-
tion and your traveling speed starting at a
speed of approximately 6mph (10 km/h).

The front camera image will no longer be
displayed from aspeed of approximately
22 mph (35 km/h).

Push the control lever in the direction of
arrow =, ?, A or B.
Monitor : displays the corresponding cam-
era image in full-screen mode for approx-
imately five seconds.
