fumes may enter the vehicle, especially car-
bon monoxide.This is the case, for example,
if the vehiclegets stuck in snow. There is a
risk of fatal injuries.
If you have to leave the engine or the auxili-
ary heating running, keep the exhaust pipe
and the area around the vehiclefree of
snow. To guarantee asufficient supply of
fresh air, open adoor or the roof hatch on
the side of the vehicleawayfrom the wind.

WARNING
You couldburn yourself on the exhaust pipe
if the auxiliary heating system has been run-
ning. There is arisk of injury.
Let the exhaust pipecool downbefore carry-
ing out work on the auxiliary heating system.
During operation of the auxiliary heating, a
smallamount of smoke may develop.

WARNING
If there is asmallamount of smoke, monitor
the progress of smoke development.
If agreater amount of smoke, fuel odor or
unusualnoises develop while operating the
auxiliary heating, this may be due to a
mechanical malfunction.
In this case, observe the following instruc-
tions:

there is arisk of fire and injury.
R
switch off the auxiliary heating.
R
remove the fuse of the auxiliary heating.
R
have the auxiliary heating checked imme-
diately at aqualified specialist workshop.

If the auxiliary heating is not usedfor an
extended period, deposits coulddevelop in
the auxiliary heating fuel system as aresult
of heating effects and condensation. These
deposits causemalfunctions in the auxiliary
heating. Have the auxiliary heating checked
and repaired at aqualified specialist work-
shop before operating again.

Switch on the auxiliary heating at least
once amonth for about ten minutes.Other-
wise, the auxiliary heating couldbedam-
aged.

The auxiliary heating may only be operated
with conventional diesel fuel.Operating with
100 %fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) fuel or
diesel fuel with an admixture of more than
10 %fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) fuel can
leadtomalfunctions and is therefore not
permitted.
When transporting hazardousmaterials,
alwaysobserve the relevant safety regulations.
Always place objects asufficient distance
from the auxiliary heating vent.

When the auxiliary heating is in heating
mode and in the cooling phase, the power
supply should only be interrupted with the
disconnect switch if dangerthreatens. If the
power supply is interrupted in heating
mode, the cooling phase cannot be
switched on and as aresult the auxiliary
heating couldbedamaged.
