  If your Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner won't turn on, ensure the power cable or USB bus power cable and USB cable are correctly connected. If using a USB hub, verify its power supply, using a powered hub with an AC adapter if a USB bus power cable is in use. Disconnect and reconnect the power cable or USB bus power cable, waiting at least five seconds before reconnecting. Also, ensure the ADF paper chute (cover) is open and that your computer has fully started, as the Scan button may be off during startup or hibernation.

  If your Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner is not recognized even after installing ScanSnap Manager, and it's listed as 'Other Device' or 'Unknown Device' in Device Manager, go to Start menu, then Control Panel, then System and Maintenance, then Device Manager. Delete the device name (like USB device) under 'Other Device', and restart your computer.

  If your Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner is running slowly, first ensure your computer meets the recommended system requirements. A slower scanning speed may also happen if the ScanSnap is connected via a USB 1.1 port; connect to a USB 2.0 port instead. Also, wait for the computer to completely start up before scanning. To increase scanning speed, disable the settings for 'Correct skewed character strings automatically', 'Allow automatic image rotation', 'Set the marked text as a keyword for the PDF file' and 'Convert to Searchable PDF' in the ScanSnap setup dialog box/window.

Verify the USB cable is properly connected, and if using a USB hub, check that it’s a powered hub with an AC adapter. If ScanSnap Manager isn't running, start it via the Start menu under All Programs, then ScanSnap Manager, or via Applications, then ScanSnap in Finder.
