What to do if Furuno FAR-2107 range changed but radar picture does not change?
    • K
      Kevin ReyesAug 25, 2025
If the range is changed on your Furuno Marine Radar but the picture doesn't update, try pressing the RANGE [+] and [-] keys (or the RANGE box) several times. If this doesn't work and you have a keyboard-type control unit, the keypad may need replacement. If the issue persists, try turning the power off and on again in case of a video freeze.

Why is Furuno FAR-2107 properly tuned but poor sensitivity?
    • J
      Jonathan DavisAug 27, 2025
If your Furuno Marine Radar is properly tuned but the sensitivity is poor, possible causes include: 1) A deteriorated magnetron. 2) A detuned MIC. 3) Dirt on the radiator face. 4) Water in the waveguide or feeder line. 5) The second trace echo rejection being ON. To resolve this: 1) Check the magnetron current while transmitting on the 48 nm range; replace if below normal. 2) Check MIC detecting current and tune if below normal. 3) Clean the radiator surface. 4) Remove water from the feeder line. 5) Disable the second-trace echo rejector.

Why is Furuno FAR-2107 tuning adjusted but poor sensitivity?
    • C
      Crystal McneilAug 27, 2025
If you've adjusted the tuning on your Furuno Marine Radar but still have poor sensitivity, the issue might be due to the 2nd trace echo rejector being on, or dirt on the radiator face. Try turning off the 2nd trace echo rejector and cleaning the radiator face.
