Overview

This document is the original user manual for the FUXTEC FX-WP152 and FX-WP143 petrol water pumps. It provides essential information for the safe and proper operation, maintenance, and storage of these devices.

Function Description

The FUXTEC petrol water pump is designed for pumping water and neutral liquids at room temperature. It is specifically intended for private use in the house and garden. The pump operates using a 2-stroke air-cooled engine, requiring a specific fuel mixture of unleaded gasoline and 2-stroke engine oil. The device features a pullstarter for engine ignition and a throttle lever for adjusting pumping capacity. Water is drawn through a suction line and expelled through a pressure line. A filter screen is installed at the end of the suction line to prevent clogging and damage from foreign matter.

Usage Features

Before operation, users must thoroughly read and understand this manual to minimize the risk of injury. The device should be placed on a firm and flat surface. For cold starts, the choke lever is moved to "COLD START," the carburettor pump is pressed 8-10 times until gasoline flows, and the starter rope is pulled with a short stroke until resistance is felt, followed by a continuous, high-speed pull to start the engine. Once started, the choke lever is set to "WARM START," and the engine is allowed to warm up at idle for about 10 minutes. For warm starts, the engine stop switch is moved down, the choke is set to "WARM START," and the starter rope is pulled with a short stroke until resistance is felt, followed by a continuous, high-speed pull to start the engine. The pumping capacity can be adjusted using the throttle lever; moving it towards the device increases flow rate, and moving it forward decreases it. To stop the device, the throttle stick is moved to the LOW position, allowing the device to return to idle. The engine stop switch is then pushed upwards to the OFF position until the device stops. In an emergency, the spark plug connector can be pulled out. The device should never be left unattended while running.

Safety Instructions for Usage:

  • Always check the device for loose parts before use and replace them if necessary.
  • Only use accessories recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Never smoke or mix fuel near open fires or in enclosed spaces. Ensure adequate ventilation when mixing and storing fuel.
  • Store the fuel mixture in a marked, approved container.
  • Never remove the fuel tank cap while the device is running.
  • Do not operate the device in closed rooms or buildings due to dangerous carbon monoxide exhaust gases.
  • Do not use the device if it is damaged, and never remove safety devices.
  • Children must not have access to the device, and spectators should maintain a distance of at least 15 meters from the working area.
  • Do not operate the device if you are tired, sick, or under the influence of medication, drugs, or alcohol.
  • Local regulations may limit device usage.
  • Secure the device properly during transport to prevent fuel loss, damage, and injury.
  • Always mount transport protection for the cutting blade before transport or storage.
  • Do not store the device in enclosed areas where fuel vapors could reach open flames from water heaters, stoves, etc. Store in a well-ventilated area.
  • When filling fuel, ensure the device is off and cooled down. Never refuel a running or hot device. Wipe up any spilt gasoline before starting.
  • Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive; handle it outdoors, away from heat sources, sparks, and open flames.
  • Do not overfill the fuel tank; leave about 25mm space below the rim for expansion.
  • The engine can be operated with E10 gasoline, but not with gasoline containing more than 10% ethanol.
  • Before starting the engine, remove the filler cap from the pump chamber and fill it with water. Re-tighten the cap. Dry operation of the pump will damage the seals. If the pump runs dry, switch off the engine immediately and allow it to cool down before pre-pumping.
  • Always pull the starter cord straight out to avoid fraying or breaking. Hold the starter handle firmly when the rope pulls back and never let it be thrown back from the pulled-out position to prevent damage to the starter device.

Maintenance Features

Regular checks and adjustments are crucial for maintaining engine performance and ensuring a long service life. Air Filter Maintenance:

  • Never run the engine without the air filter.
  • A dirty air filter reduces engine performance, increases fuel consumption, and makes starting difficult. If a loss of engine power is noticed, clean the air filter.
  • To clean, remove the screw on the filter cover, remove the filter, and wash it with soap and water. Do not use gasoline or benzene.
  • Allow the filter to dry in the air before re-installing it and fastening the filter cover with the screw.

Spark Plug Maintenance:

  • To ensure regular engine operation, the ignition distance of 0.6-0.7mm must be maintained, and the spark plug must be free of carbon deposits.
  • Always perform these steps with the engine switched off.
  • Carefully remove the spark plug connector by pulling directly on the plug, not the cable.
  • Use the supplied spark plug wrench to unscrew the spark plug.
  • Visually inspect the spark plug for damage, electrode burn-off, and remove carbon deposits.
  • Check the gap with a feeler gauge and bend the electrode to a distance of 0.6 to 0.7mm.
  • Check the spark plug washer and tighten the spark plug with a torque of 12-15 Nm.
  • Mount the ignition cap back on the spark plug.
  • The spark plug must be screwed tight; otherwise, the engine will run hot and be damaged.

Storage of the Device:

  • Perform all general maintenance recommended in the user manual.
  • Clean the device's exterior, drive axle, protective shield, and nylon cutting head.
  • Drain fuel from the fuel tank.
  • After draining fuel, start the device and let it idle until it stops by itself to clean the carburettor of fuel.
  • Allow the device to cool down (about 5 minutes).
  • Use a spark plug wrench to remove the spark plug.
  • Pour 1 teaspoon of clean 2-stroke oil into the combustion chamber.
  • Slowly pull the starter rope several times to coat the internal components.
  • Replace the spark plug.
  • Store the device in a cool, dry place away from any ignition sources (e.g., oil burner, water heater).
  • Install transport protection for metal sheets during transport and storage to prevent fuel loss, damage, or injury.

Fuel Mixture:

  • Use unleaded gasoline with 2-stroke engine oil in a 40:1 ratio. For the first few operations, a 25:1 mixing rate can be used for optimal lubrication.
  • Never use pure gasoline; this will cause permanent engine damage and void the warranty.
  • Never use a fuel mixture stored for more than 90 days.
  • Use first-class oil for 2-stroke air-cooled devices.
  • Mix fuel and 2-stroke oil in a separate container, following the correct ratio. Shake the tank to ensure complete mixing.
  • Lack of lubrication due to incorrect mixture ratio (not 40:1) excludes the manufacturer's liability.
  • It is recommended to use unleaded gasoline with an octane number of 90 or higher to reduce carbon deposition. Avoid old or dirty gasoline and keep the fuel tank dust-free and free of water.
  • Overload may cause misfiring, which is normal. If backfires occur under average load, change the gasoline. If the issue persists, contact an authorized workshop.

Troubleshooting:

  • If problems persist after troubleshooting, contact the dealer or manufacturer directly.
  • Only use original parts approved by the manufacturer to avoid risks.

Disposal:

  • Contact your local community for device disposal.
  • Dispose of all functional materials, such as gasoline and oil, in advance.
