NOTE
The grinder stops automatically, as soon as the pre-programmed amount is given
off. However, you can stop the grinding cycle manually. Simply press the GRIND
button, while the grinder is running. The grind size can be adjusted conveniently
by turning the bean hopper (see: ‘Entering Your Own Settings’).
6. If required, fill an appropriate amount of coffee beans into the bean hopper (see:
‘Filling the Bean Hopper’).
7. Push the completely dry portafilter into the grinder cradle below the grinder outlet
(“TAP & GO GRINDER”).
8. Shortly press the GRIND button. The grinder starts operation and stops automa-
tically, when the pre-set amount is given off.
9. If you need a larger amount, simply press the GRIND button again. If required,
stop the grinding cycle, in time by pressing the GRIND button again, while the
grinder is running.
10. Carefully pull the portafilter out of the grinder cradle. Then tamp the coffee pow-
der (see: ‘Tamping the Coffee Powder’).
USING PRE-GROUND COFFEE POWDER
IMPORTANT - You should use only coffee powder, that is suited for espresso
machines. In most cases, the grind size of other types of coffee powder is too
coarse. The result is a watery and tasteless coffee. Do not overfill the filter basket.
Leave 2-3 mm of free space between the surface of the tamped coffee powder
and the rim of the filter basket.
11. Simply fill the appropriate amount of pre-ground coffee powder into the pre-
pared and completely dry filter basket. It is best to start your first attempt using
9-13 g for a single espresso (1 cup filter basket and SINGLE button). Start using
approx. 20 g for a double extraction (2 cups filter basket and DOUBLE button).
12. Then tamp the coffee powder (see: ‘Tamping the Coffee Powder’).
TAMPING THE COFFEE POWDER
NOTE
After filling coffee powder into the filter basket, it must be tamped as evenly as
possible. Use the flat side of the provided tamper. Try to get a level and smooth
surface by applying a force of 12 - 13 kg.
