Inspection and Maintenance Instructions for 7FA.05 Gas Onl
y
and Dual Fuel Gas Turbine
s
GEK 116862
C. Compressor Bleed Valves
These valves should operate freely with no evidence of sticking. Where sticking is evident, contact
the vendor and GE engineering.
WARNING
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PERFORM ANY IN-FIELD SERVICING OF
THE BLEED VALVES WITHOUT PROPER AUTHORIZATION AND
INSTRUCTION FROM THE VENDOR AND GE ENGINEERING.
IMPROPER SERVICING CAN DETRIMENTALLY AFFECT VALVE
PERFORMANCE.
D. Compressor Discharge Pressure Transmitters
Check that the transmitter is calibrated within the limits described in the Control Specification.
E. Case Temperature Management
Many CTM components will need to be removed during standard gas turbine maintenance. These
include the CTM Manifolds, On-Base Piping System and Embedded Casing Thermocouples and
associated conduit and wiring. It is critical that the following areas are addressed when re-assembling
the CTM system components following their removal:
1. CTM manifolds properly secured on the turbine casing with proper gaps maintained. All
integrated support/thermowell mounts shall be fully (thread engaged) in the casing and leveling
support nuts “snug” against the casing surface.
2. Embedded casing TC’s shall be inspected for damage prior to reinstallation. When inserted, it
shall be conrmed that the ttings are fully engaged in the support/thermowell mount. Loop
checks shall be performed on any TC’s removed and/or replaced.
3. The exible metal ducting shall be inspected for damage that could impact airow. If damaged,
the ducting section shall be replaced with a new part. All T-bolt clamps used to connect ducting
to hard pipe interfaces (on manifolds an on piping) shall be inspected to insure they are tight.
XVIII. STARTING SYSTEM
A. Turning Gear Motor
See Vendor’s Preventive Maintenance Procedure in Starting System Section.
B. Gear Box
Check for sight glass for presence of oil. Reference Vendor Operation and Maintenance Manual for
other periodic maintenance procedures required for the gear box.
C. Flexible Coupling
Check flexible coupling for visible damage or wear. Check disk packs for allowable spacing
according to Vendor’s Operation and Maintenance Manual.
