What to do if my GE AHC08 Air Conditioner does not start?
- JJennifer BlackburnAug 6, 2025
First, ensure the air conditioner is fully plugged into the outlet. If it still doesn't start, check the house fuse or circuit breaker and replace the fuse or reset the breaker if necessary. Also, the unit has a protective time delay of approximately 3 minutes to prevent tripping the compressor overload, so it may not start cooling immediately after being turned back on after a power failure. Finally, if the current interrupter device is tripped, press the RESET button on the power cord plug. If the RESET button will not stay engaged, stop using the air conditioner and contact a qualified service technician.
