If the oven door of your GE Range won't open or the LOCKED light is on, the oven door is locked because the temperature inside the oven has not dropped below the locking temperature. Press the Cancel/Off pad and allow the oven to cool below the locking temperature.

Why are my GE CCGS995 burners not lighting?
    • S
      Steven DixonSep 13, 2025
There are several reasons why the burners might not be lighting. First, make sure the electrical plug is plugged into a live, properly grounded outlet. Also, the gas supply might not be connected or turned on. Check if a fuse in your home may be blown or the circuit breaker tripped and replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker if needed. Other possible reasons are that burner parts are not replaced correctly, burner slots near the electrode, or the round lighter port on the oval burner, may be clogged or there is food residue on electrode. In the last case lightly polish flat tip of electrode with nail file or sandpaper until shiny.

Why are my GE CCGS995 Ranges burner flames very large or yellow?
    • J
      Jessica NguyenSep 23, 2025
This is due to an improper air to gas ratio. If range is connected to Propane gas, contact the technician who installed your range or made the conversion.

If the top burners on your GE Range don't burn evenly, make sure the burner caps are seated correctly. See the Care and Cleaning of the range section. Also, burner slots on the side of the burner may be clogged, so remove the burners for cleaning. See the Care and Cleaning of the range section.

    • E
      Elizabeth SpencerSep 23, 2025
Gas to the oven burners may have been shut off. The oven gas shut-off is located on the gas regulator near the gas line attachment to your range. Locate it and flip the lever. Lever is shown closed. PULL TO OPEN. Sealed burner models.
