A restricted or reduced permeate flow rate can also cause high operating pressure; refer to the causes for low permeate flow rate to resolve this.

A defective or burned-out timer relay can also cause a shutdown; replace the relay. Additionally, the motor starter may be overloaded, causing the heater to trip; turn the switch off and let the heater(s) cool.
