Why are clothes still wet in my GE GFD65 after a short time?

  If clothes are still wet and the dryer shut off quickly, ensure that a dry cycle is re-selected each time a new load is put in, especially if the door was opened mid-cycle and a new load was added. If drying 3 items or less, choose QUICK DRY or TIMED DRY. If the load was already dry except for collars and waistbands, choose QUICK DRY or TIMED DRY to dry damp collars and waistbands, or choose More Dry in the future when drying a load with collars and waistbands. Check if the dryer is not level and move it to an even floor space or adjust the leveling legs as necessary.

  Your GE dryer may be shaking or making noise because it is sitting unevenly. To fix this, move the dryer to an even floor space, or adjust the leveling legs as necessary until it is even.

  If you find lint on your clothes after drying in your GE Dryer, make sure to clean the lint screen before each load. Sort lint producers (like chenille) from lint collectors (like corduroy). Static electricity can also attract lint. Avoid overloading the dryer, and always empty pockets to remove paper or tissue before laundering.

Some electric dryers use 2 fuses/breakers, so ensure both are operating. * Gas service is off (gas models only): Make sure the gas shutoff at the dryer and the main shutoff are fully open. * LP gas supply tank is empty or there has been a utility interruption of natural gas (gas models only): Refill or replace the tank. The dryer should heat when utility service is restored. * No heat temperature selected: Select another heat setting.

  If your GE Dryer doesn’t start, first, press the Power button to activate the control panel. Next, ensure the dryer plug is pushed completely into the outlet. Then, check the building’s fuse/circuit breaker box and replace the fuse or reset the breaker. Also, if you were starting a Delay Dry cycle, press Start/Pause to restart the countdown if the dryer was accidentally paused.

Note that your dryer may tumble if only one fuse is blown or one breaker tripped. For gas models, ensure the gas shutoff at the dryer and the main shutoff are fully open. Also, check if the LP gas supply tank is empty or if there has been a utility interruption of natural gas; refill or replace the tank as needed. Finally, make sure you have selected a heat temperature setting other than 'No heat'.
