How to testwatertemperature:
Check the watertemperatureinside
yourdishwasherwith a candyor
meat thermometer.
Let the dishwasherrun throughone
fill and pump out cycle, thenlet the
dishwasherfill with waterthe
second time,approximately5
minutesafterstig themachine.
When you hear the waterstop
filling,unlatchthe door and slowly
open it.
Measure the temperatureof the
water in thebottom of thetub this
way:
Remove the
silverwarebasketand
placeacandyormeatthermometer
in thewatertowardsthemiddleof
thetub.Ifthetemperatureisless
than 120°F,youwillnotgetgood
washingresults.Raiseyourwater
heatertemperature,wait30minutes
andtestagain.Higherwater
temperatureis neededtodissolve
grea&andactivatepowder
detergents.If thewatertemperature
is lessthan 140°F,usethe WASH
HEATBOOSTOption(seepage4).
Helpfu]hints: If outside
temperaturesareunusuallylow,orif
yourwatertravelsa longdistance
fromwaterheaterto dishwasher,you
may needto setyourwaterheater’s
thermostatup.If youhavenotused
hotwaterfor sometime,thewaterin
thepipeswillbe cold.T1.mnon the
hot waterfaucetat the sinkand
allowit to run untilthe waterishot.
Then startthe dishwasher.If you’ve
recentlydonelaundryorrun hot
waterfor showers,giveyour water
heatertimeto recoverbefore
operatingthe dishwasher.
How to use a RDSe Agent
A rinseagentmakeswaterflowoff
dishesquickerthanusual.This
lessenswater spottingand makes
dryingfaster,too.
For bestdishwashingperformance,
use of a rinse agentsuch asJET-
DRY brandis recommended.
Rinseagentscome in eitherliquidor
solidform. Yourdishwasher’s
dispenseruses the liquidform.
How to fill
therinseagent
dispenser.
Unscrewthe cap.Add the
liquidrinse agentuntilitjust reaches
the bottomof the lip insidethe
dispenseropening.Replacethe cap.
The dispenserautomaticallyreleases
the rinse agentinto the finalrinse
water.
If you accidentally
spill:Wipeup
the rinse agent with a damp cloth.
Don’t leave the spillin the
dishwasher.It can keep your
detergentfrom working.

phosphatecontentislow (8.7%or

How much detergentshouldyou
use?
T’hatdepends.Is your water
“hard” or “soft”? With hard water,
you need extra detergentto get
dishesclean.With soft water,you
need less detergent.
Toomuchdetergentwithsoftwater
notonlywastesmoney,it can be
harmful.It can causea permanent
cloudinessof glassware,called
“etching.”An outsidelayerof glass
isetchedaway!Of course,thistakes
sometime.But why takea chance
whenit’seasy to find outthe hardness
of yourwater.
