The GE Healthcare Smart Patient and Staff/Duty Stations (models HC-PSTN1, HC-PSTN2, HC-CCPSTN, and HC-DUTY) are integral components of a patient-staff communications system, designed to facilitate two-way communication between patients and healthcare staff. These stations serve as primary interface points, equipped with three call buttons and a cancel button, providing an intuitive means for users to place calls within the system.
These stations enable full-duplex audio communication between patients and attending staff, and vice versa, through a built-in speaker and microphone. On-board LEDs provide visual feedback on operational status and call indications. When calls are placed, they register and annunciate at ColorTouch VoIP Staff Consoles and ColorTouch VoIP Annunciators. Additionally, connected Infinity LED dome/zone lights activate, indicating the nature and urgency of the call.
The Smart Patient Stations (HC-PSTN1 and HC-PSTN2) include separate 18-pin receptacles for pillow speaker connections and two 0.64 mm (0.25 in) receptacles programmable for auxiliary equipment input or bed call cords. The HC-PSTN1 (Single Smart Patient Station) offers one set of connections, while the HC-PSTN2 (Dual Smart Patient Station) provides two sets, making it suitable for semi-private room settings. The Call Cord Patient Stations (HC-CCPSTN) are equipped with two 0.64 mm (0.25 inch) receptacles, configurable for auxiliary equipment or one or two bed call cords. Smart Staff/Duty Stations (HC-DUTY) are designed for staff areas like break rooms and do not include bed connections or call cord jacks.
The Smart Patient and Staff/Duty Stations connect to the Telligence LAN/WAN via the Telligence Station Gateway, which also supplies power to the devices. Connections to the gateway are made through associated dome lights, utilizing snap-in RJ-45 connections at both the station and the dome light. This design ensures straightforward setup and installation, with a focus on user-friendliness and reliable communication within healthcare environments.
