Why is my GE IM-5D automatic icemaker not working?

  Several factors can prevent your GE Ice Maker's automatic icemaker from working. The freezer compartment may be too warm—allow 24 hours for complete cool down after installation. The icemaker might not be turned on—check the icemaker button on the control. Ensure the icemaker cord is fully plugged in. Inspect the plastic water line for kinks. Confirm the house water supply is on. Also, piled-up cubes can shut off the icemaker; level them by hand.

  Small ice cubes or slow ice production in your GE Ice Maker can be due to a clogged water shutoff valve connecting the refrigerator to the house water line. It is recommended to drill a 1/4" hole in the water pipe to connect the water. Also, check the plastic water line for any kinks.
