How to remove scratches on my GE Ranges cooktop glass surface?
    • J
      Jill HuffmanSep 14, 2025
Scratches on the cooktop glass surface of your GE Ranges are not removable, and incorrect cleaning methods are often the cause. Tiny scratches will become less visible over time as a result of cleaning. To avoid scratches, use the recommended cleaning procedures. Ensure the bottoms of your cookware are clean before use, and use cookware with smooth bottoms to prevent further scratching.

Why is the oven door crooked on my GE JS760 Ranges?
    • H
      heidiholdenSep 14, 2025
The oven door on your GE Ranges may be crooked because it is out of position. Because the oven door is removable, it sometimes gets out of position during installation. To straighten the door, reinstall the door. See the 'Lift Off Oven Door' instructions in the "Care and Cleaning" section.

    Kenneth MillerSep 14, 2025
Why is there fan noise coming from my GE JS760 oven?
    • C
      Charles GrantSep 14, 2025
If you hear fan noise from your GE Ranges, a convection fan may automatically turn on and off to maximize cooking evenness. This is normal. The convection fan will operate during preheat of the bake cycle and turn off after the oven is heated to the set temperature. Also, a cooling fan may automatically turn on and off to cool internal parts, even after the oven is turned off, which is normal on some models.

Why doesn't the drawer slide smoothly on my GE JS760 Ranges?
    • E
      Erik FranklinSep 14, 2025
If the drawer on your GE Ranges does not slide smoothly or drags, the drawer may be out of alignment. Fully extend the drawer and push it all the way in. See the Care and cleaning of the range section. The drawer may also be overloaded or the load may be unbalanced, so reduce weight and redistribute drawer contents.
  • S
    Sherry PetersonSep 15, 2025
Why are the oven racks difficult to slide in my GE Ranges?
    • S
      Sarah JohnstonSep 15, 2025
If the oven racks in your GE Ranges are difficult to slide, especially the shiny, silver-colored racks that were cleaned in a self-clean cycle, apply a small amount of vegetable oil to a paper towel and wipe the edges of the oven racks with the paper towel. Do not spray with Pam® or other lubricant sprays.
  • L
    Laura HammondSep 15, 2025
Why are there areas of discoloration on the cooktop of my GE JS760?
    • J
      Jeremy JohnsonSep 15, 2025
If you notice areas of discoloration on the cooktop of your GE Ranges, it may be due to food spillovers not cleaned before the next use. See the Cleaning the glass cooktop section. Also, a hot surface on a model with a light-colored cooktop may appear discolored when it is hot, which is normal and temporary and will disappear as the glass cools.
  • D
    Darren MoodySep 15, 2025
Why does the surface unit stop glowing when turned to a lower setting on my GE Ranges?
    • J
      jonessavannahSep 15, 2025
If the surface unit on your GE Ranges stops glowing when turned to a lower setting, the unit is still on and hot, which is normal.
  • J
    John SmithSep 15, 2025
Why is there steam coming from the vent of my GE JS760 Ranges oven?
    • A
      Alice JohnsonSep 15, 2025
When using the ovens in your GE Ranges, it is normal to see steam coming out of the oven vents. As the number of racks or amount of food being cooked increases, the amount of visible steam will increase.
  • V
    Veronica SullivanSep 15, 2025
Why does my GE Ranges oven door glass appear to be "tinted" or have a "rainbow" color?
    • L
      Leah FrancisSep 16, 2025
No, this is not defective. The inner oven glass of your GE Ranges is coated with a heat barrier to reflect heat back into the oven, preventing heat loss and keeping the outer door cool while baking. Under certain lights or angles, you may see this tint or rainbow color, which is normal.
  • K
    Kathleen HenrySep 16, 2025
Is it normal to have water remaining on the oven floor after a Steam Clean cycle in my GE JS760 Ranges?
    • G
      gwestSep 16, 2025
If there is water remaining on the oven floor after the Steam Clean cycle in your GE Ranges, this is normal. Remove any remaining water with a dry cloth or sponge.
