Why are my dishes and flatware not clean in my GE Dishwasher?
    • M
      michelle17Aug 15, 2025
If your GE Dishwasher isn't cleaning dishes and flatware properly, several factors could be the cause. Check if the Ultra-Fine Filter or Fine Filter is clogged, and refer to the Care and Cleaning section for cleaning instructions. Ensure the inlet water temperature is correct by running the hot water faucet nearest the dishwasher until the water is hot before starting the dishwasher. Low water pressure can also be a factor; wait until the pressure is normal (20-120 psi). Other potential issues include a clogged air gap or disposer, improper rack loading (ensuring large dishware doesn't block the detergent dispenser or wash arms), or the use of poor-performing detergent. High drain loop or air gap should be installed according to the Installation Instructions.

What to do if my GE PD 715 Dishwasher won’t run?
    • B
      Brandon MurrayAug 18, 2025
If your GE Dishwasher won’t run, start by checking the fuse or circuit breaker and replace or reset if necessary. Ensure power to the dishwasher is turned on, especially if it's connected to a wall switch. Verify that the control panel isn't locked (refer to the Getting Started section for unlocking instructions). Also, make sure the door is properly closed and that the correct start sequence is followed (refer to the Using the Dishwasher section). If the display shows 'LEAK DETECTED', it indicates a possible leak, and you should contact support.

How to fix GE PD 715 Dishwasher when dishes don’t dry?
    • A
      Amanda GomezAug 21, 2025
If your dishes aren't drying in your GE Dishwasher, make sure the inlet water temperature is at least 120°F and select Boost Dry or use the Boost option. Check if the rinse agent dispenser is empty and fill it as needed. You can also select a higher cycle, such as Steam-Sani, Presoak-Sani, or Sanitize. For additional drying time, leave the door closed after the Clean light appears to allow the fan to run for an extra 90 minutes, but note that opening the door will cancel this extension.

What to do if water won’t pump out of my GE Dishwasher?
    • J
      joshuamartinAug 25, 2025
If water won’t pump out of your GE Dishwasher, the drain might be clogged. If you have an air gap, clean it. If the dishwasher drains into a disposer, run the disposer to clear any blockage. Check to see if your kitchen sink is draining well; if not, you may need a plumber.

How to turn off the beeping at the end of the cycle on my GE PD 715?
    • A
      Ashley ScottAug 27, 2025
The GE Dishwasher beeps twice at the end of the cycle, which is normal. To turn off or re-activate this double beep indicator, press the Dry Boost pad 5 times within 3 seconds. A triple beep will indicate that the end-of-cycle beep option has been turned on or off.

What causes cloudiness on glassware in my GE Dishwasher?
    • M
      Morgan JohnsonAug 30, 2025
Cloudiness on glassware in your GE Dishwasher can be caused by a combination of soft water and too much detergent, leading to etching, which is permanent. To prevent this, use less detergent if you have soft water and wash glassware in the shortest cycle possible. It may also be caused by a low-performing phosphate-free detergent. If the water temperature entering the dishwasher exceeds 150°F, it could also cause etching, so lower the water heater temperature.

How to remove white film on glassware in my GE Dishwasher?
    • B
      Brian GutierrezSep 3, 2025
A white film on glassware, dishware, and the interior of your GE Dishwasher is likely caused by a low-quality phosphate-free dishwasher detergent. To remove the film, run a cycle with citric acid (using a WD35X151 kit found online) or use high-quality rinse agents like Cascade® Platinum™ Dishwasher Cleaner or Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner. Pour the citric acid into the detergent cup, load the filmed items (without silverware or metal), and run a complete cycle without detergent.

GE Appliances recommends high quality rinse agents such as Cascade® Platinum™ Power Dry™ Rinse Aid or Finish® Jet-Dry® Rinse Aid to help prevent hard water mineral deposits from forming which can cause stained tub interior. Run dishwasher with citric acid to remove mineral deposits. Alternatively, purchase Cascade® Platinum™ Dishwasher Cleaner or Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner and follow the directions on the label.

    • D
      dwilliamsSep 8, 2025

Why is detergent left in the dispenser cups of my GE PD 715 Dishwasher?
    • K
      Kevin AlvaradoSep 12, 2025
If detergent is left in the dispenser cups of your GE Dishwasher, it's likely that dishes or utensils are blocking the detergent cup. Reposition the dishes so that water from the lower spray arm can flush the detergent cup. Also, reposition tall utensils or heavy silverware that may be preventing the dispenser cup door from opening. Avoid placing large bowls or pots directly under the detergent dispenser.
