Why is my GE Washer leaking water?

First, ensure that you are using the correct type and amount of detergent—High Efficiency detergents like Tide PODS™ are recommended, and using less detergent is advisable, especially with soft water or smaller loads. Next, check all hose connections at the faucets to ensure they are tight and that rubber washers are properly installed. Also, verify the drain hose is correctly inserted and secured. Inspect the household plumbing for any clogs, and ensure the drain hose isn't rubbing against the wall to prevent wear. Finally, tighten the hoses at the faucets and consider replacing the fill hoses every 5 years to maintain optimal condition.

  If your GE Washer isn’t draining, check the drain hose. Make sure it isn't kinked or that the washer isn't sitting on it. Also, ensure the top of the drain outlet is less than 8 ft (2.44 m) above the floor.

How to fix low water flow in my GE Washer?

  If your GE Washer has low water flow, it could be due to a couple of reasons. The water valve screens might be clogged; turn off the water, disconnect the hoses from the washer and faucets, and clean the screens with a brush or toothpick before reconnecting. Alternatively, low water supply pressure could be the issue. If the pressure is less than 20 psi while the washer is filling, you may need to call a plumber to assess and correct your water supply.

Why is water siphoning out of my GE Profile PTW905 Washer?

  If water is siphoning out of your GE Washer, it's likely because the drain standpipe is too low or the hose is inserted too far into the standpipe. The drain hose must be higher than 30 inches at some point between the washer and the drain pipe. Consider using an anti-siphon clip, and refer to the Installation Instructions for more details.

  If your GE Washer is pumping water out before the cycle is complete, it might be because water was left in the unit for an extended period. If the lid was closed, this period is 24 hours, and if the lid was open, it's 15 minutes. To resolve this, close the lid, select a new cycle, and start the machine.

Why does the water temperature seem incorrect on my GE Washer?

  If the water temperature in your GE Washer seems incorrect, there are several possible reasons. New laundry detergents are designed to work well with cooler water, which improves energy efficiency. Ensure that both hot and cold water faucets are fully turned on and properly connected to the correct inlets, marked “H” and “C”. Clean the water valve screens by turning off the water source, disconnecting the hoses, cleaning the screens, and reconnecting them. Note that some models optimize water temperature for best results, adding cold water even when hot is selected. Finally, ensure your house water heater is set to deliver water at 120°F–140°F (48°C–60°C).
