Geotab’s GO9+ telematics device builds on the class-leading GO9 with the added benet of an on-board Wi-Fi hotspot. Similar to
the GO9®, the GO9+ offers state-of-the-art GPS technology, g-force monitoring, GEOTAB IOX® expandability, engine and battery
health assessments, and communication on the LTE network.
Vehicle tracking
Using Geotab’s patented tracking algorithm, the GO9+ accurately recreates vehicle trips and analyzes incidents. Improve eet
safety and performance. The GO9+ relays in-vehicle alerts to notify drivers of infractions in real-time and delivers live driver
coaching — with hardware Add-Ons — for improved on-road performance. The GO9+ does not require a dash-mounted antenna
or any wire splicing.
Security
Geotab platform security is designed for end-to-end protection of your data.
Key implementations include:
GO™ device and network interfaces use authentication, encryption, and message integrity verication.
GO devices are individualized. Each device uses a unique ID and non-static security key — making it dicult to fake a
devices identity.
Over-the-air updates use digitally-signed rmware to verify that updates come from a trusted source.
Geotab uses independent third-party experts to validate the platform from end-to-end.
FIPS 140-2 validated by NIST (certicate #3371).

Function Description

The GO9+ device serves as a comprehensive telematics solution for fleet management. Its primary functions include:

  • Vehicle Tracking: Utilizes GPS/GLONASS/Beidou/Galileo/SBAS/WAAS/EGNOS/MSAS/GAGAN for accurate location tracking, providing real-time and historical trip data. It employs patented tracking algorithms to detect and report infractions, helping improve driver safety and compliance.
  • Driver Safety and Behavior Monitoring: Records and analyzes driver behavior, including harsh braking, harsh acceleration, harsh corners, over-revving, excessive idling, and speeding. It provides driver feedback through an in-cab buzzer for immediate alerts.
  • Engine and Vehicle Diagnostics: Connects to the vehicle's engine diagnostic port (OBD2, J1939, J1708, J1850) to collect critical data such as engine hours, odometer readings, VIN, and fault codes. It supports engine-based ignition detection for both 3-wire and covert installations.
  • Wi-Fi Hotspot: Provides an in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot, supporting up to 10 simultaneous connections. This feature allows drivers and passengers to stay connected, enhancing productivity and convenience.
  • Expandability (IOX): Features an IOX port for connecting additional peripherals and expanding the device's functionality, such as adding external antennas or other accessories.
  • Over-the-Air (OTA) Updates: Supports firmware updates and configuration changes remotely, ensuring the device always has the latest features and security enhancements.

  • Wi-Fi Hotspot Management: Users can enable/disable the Wi-Fi hotspot, set a unique SSID and password, and monitor data usage through the MyGeotab platform. The device includes thermal mitigation logic to protect against overheating, which may temporarily throttle speeds or disable the Wi-Fi hotspot under extreme conditions.

Maintenance Features
