The water still must only be installed connected to a properly
installed power connection with neuter (PE), according to the
local regulations.
It must be secured that power can be cut all-pole (switch or
socket).
Please also refer to item 6 of these operating instructions "Examples for power connections".
4. Water connections
All water connections of the water still are at the right-hand side of the unit and are marked
with inscriptions.
4.1 Distillate outlet
Connect a heat-resistant laboratory hose to the spout marked "distillate outlet" and lead the
hose to an external distillate storage tank.
Caution! Distilled water leaves the water still with a
temperature of more than 90°C.
Danger of scaldings!
4.2 Tap water inlet
The tap water inlet supplies the still with water through a solenoid valve. Use a ½ " (inch,
inner diameter 12.7 mm) pressure hose with blockable water connection (stop cock) to
connect the hose connection with the water mains.
By all means secure both hose connections with hose clips!
4.3 Inlet separate water supply (only if accessory separate water supply was ordered)
The water inlet for the separate water supply supplies the boiler of the water still with
softened or desalinated water through a solenoid valve. Use a ½ " pressure hose with
blockable water connection to connect the hose connection with the water mains for
pretreated water. After installation of the separate water supply, cooling water will be
supplied via the tap water inlet.
By all means secure both hose connections with hose clips!
4.4 Cooling water outlet
Depending on the model, cooling water will flow out of the unit through one or two hose
connections. The hoses for cooling water have to be led to a drain on a lower level. The
hoses must have a slope on the complete length of the hoses, the cooling water must flow
out without back draughts. The hose for cooling water outlet must also be ½ ", it should have
a maximum length of approx 1 metre and must be heat resistant.
