Enter the Intel
®
legacyRAIDBIOSsetuputilitytocongureaRAIDarray.Skipthisstepandproceedwiththe
installationofWindowsoperatingsystemforanon-RAIDconguration.
Steps:
1. In BIOS Setup, go to BIOS and set CSM Support to Enabled and Storage Boot Option Control to Legacy.
Next, go to Peripherals\SATA A
nd
RST Conguration and make sure Use RST Legacy OROM is set
to Enabled. Save the changes and exit BIOS Setup. After the POST memory test begins and before the
operatingsystembootbegins,lookforamessagewhichsays"Press<Ctrl-I>toenterCongurationUtility".
Press<Ctrl>+<I>toentertheRAIDCongurationUtility.
2. Afteryoupress<Ctrl>+<I>,theMAIN MENUscreenwillappear.IfyouwanttocreateaRAIDarray,select
Create RAID Volume in MAIN MENUandpress<Enter>.
3. After entering the CREATE VOLUME MENU screen, enter a volume name with 1~16 letters (letters cannot
be special characters) under the Name
itemandpress<Enter>.Then,selectaRAIDlevel.RAIDlevels
supportedincludeRAID0,RAID1,Recovery,RAID10,andRAID5(theselectionsavailabledependonthe
numberoftheharddrivesbeinginstalled).Press<Enter>toproceed.
4. Under Disksitem,selecttheharddrivestobeincludedintheRAIDarray.Ifonlytwoharddrivesareinstalled,
they will be automatically assigned to the array. Set the stripe block size if necessary. The stripe block size
canbesetfrom4KBto128KB.Onceyouhaveselectedthestripeblocksize,press<Enter>.
5. Enterthearraycapacityandpress<Enter>. Finallypress<Enter>ontheCreate Volume item to begin
creatingtheRAIDarray.Whenpromptedtoconrmwhethertocreatethisvolume,press<Y>toconrmor
<N>tocancel.
6. When completed,youcansee detailed information about theRAIDarrayin the DISK/VOLUME
INFORMATION
section,includingtheRAIDlevel,stripeblocksize,arrayname,andarraycapacity,etc.
ToexittheRAIDBIOSutility,press<Esc>orselect6. Exit in MAIN MENU.
InstallingtheSATARAID/AHCIDriverandOperatingSystem
WiththecorrectBIOSsettings,youarereadytoinstalltheoperatingsystem.
InstallingtheOperatingSystem
AssomeoperatingsystemsalreadyincludeSATARAID/AHCIdriver,youdonotneedtoinstallseparateRAID/
AHCIdriverduringtheWindowsinstallationprocess.Aftertheoperatingsystemisinstalled,werecommend
thatyouinstallallrequireddriversfromthemotherboarddriverdiskusing"XpressInstall"toensuresystem
performance and compatibility. If the operating system to be installed requires that you provide additional SATA
RAID/AHCIdriverduringtheOSinstallationprocess,pleaserefertothestepsbelow:
1. Copy the IRST folder under \Boot in the driver disk to your USB thumb drive.
2. BootfromtheWindowssetupdiskandperformstandardOSinstallationsteps.Whenthescreenrequesting
you to load the driver appears, select Browse.
3. Insert the USB thumb drive and then browse to the location of the driver. The location of the driver is as
follows:
\iRST\f6py-x64
4. Whenascreenasshown,selectIntel Chipset SATA RAID Controller and click Next to load the driver and
continue the OS installation.
