Managing certificates
The phone supports the establishment of secure (encrypted) data connections on the Internet
with the TLS security protocol (Transport Layer Security). With TLS, the client (the phone) uses
certificates to identify the server. The certificates are used to certify the electronic identity of the
communication partners. These certificates must be stored on the phone.
There are server and client certificates. With server certificates, the operator of a website is
authenticated by the client. With a client certificate, the client identifies itself as authorised to
access a server website.
