  Several issues may cause water to come out of the tub spout and showerhead simultaneously. First, if the leak from the tub spout is less than 0.01 GPM, when the water flow switches to the shower from the tub spout, this is considered normal. Otherwise, check the following: * Ensure the pipe between the valve and tub spout is 1/2 in. IPS or COPPER; if not, change the pipe. * Verify the distance between the valve and showerhead is at least 48 in.; if not, increase the distance. * Check for restrictions between the valve and tub spout; remove the tub spout and flush out any debris, replacing undersized lines or fittings if necessary. * Confirm the valve is installed correctly; if upside down, remove and reinstall it in the correct orientation.

  A lack of or low water flow could be due to a couple of reasons: * Make sure that both water supplies are turned on by turning both water supply valves counterclockwise to the on position. * Another reason may be that the screen filter in the spray head is blocked. Turn off the water supply at the angle valve and unscrew the spray head from the spray hose. Clean the screen filter under running water with a brush.
