  To resolve sieves plugging with straw and chaff in your GLEANER Farm Equipment, increase the fan choke setting to provide more air blast. Decrease the sieve and chaffer openings in small increments. Ensure all fan inlet screens are properly installed. Allow the crop to pass through and clear the machine before disengaging the separator. Use the correct chaffer for the crop being harvested (round end, shallow tooth spacing for all crops except corn). Inspect the fan, fan choke, shoe air duct, and splitter location for correct air pattern.

  To address crop bunching on the cutter bar of your GLEANER Farm Equipment, lower the reel if it's too high or set it back if it's too far forward. Increase the reel speed if it's too slow. Remove any dirt, gum, or rust from a sticky header pan. Lower the header conveyor if it's too high and replace worn conveyor flighting. Adjust the conveyor fingers as close to the header bottom as possible and check the header drive and basic speed of the combine and conveyor if it is not operating at the recommended speed.

  To address the issue of grain not being threshed from heads or shelled from the cob or pod in your GLEANER Farm Equipment, decrease the concave clearance and adjust the cylinder speed to prevent cracking. Increase the cylinder speed enough to do a good job of threshing. Level the concave to the cylinder. If there is uneven feed to the cylinder, refer to section on UNEVEN OR BUNCHED FEEDING (PG. 16). Increase ground speed for more intake of material if there is insufficient material entering the cylinder. Replace cylinder bars if they are worn or damaged or if the cylinder is not aggressive enough. Replace the concave if it is extremely worn or damaged. Install concave fillers if the crop is very difficult to thresh.

  To reduce reel wrapping in tangled and weedy crops with your GLEANER Farm Equipment, position the reel ahead and down. Reduce the reel speed if it's too fast. Adjust the tine pitch if the pickup reel tines are pitched too much to the rear. Replace or straighten bent tines. Install or adjust long dividers if the crop is not divided at the header ends. Install reel end shields or a Reel Divider Kit #700957021 and raise the reel to reduce the amount of straw gathered by the reel if reel ends are wrapping.

  To address the issue of grain loss from the cylinder in your GLEANER Farm Equipment, adjust the engine high idle to the proper speed. Increase ground speed for more intake of material (corn only) if there is insufficient material entering the cylinder. Refer to section on UNEVEN OR BUNCHED FEEDING (PG. 16) if there is uneven feed to the cylinder. Try various cylinder speeds to determine the optimal speed for threshing and separating if the cylinder speed is too high or too low. Decrease concave clearance if there is insufficient threshing at the concave. Install two extra reverse cylinder bars if grain is not coming out of the cage. Remove helicals bolted to the rear separator door (milo & high moisture corn) if there is excessive loss out of discharge.

  To address the issue of cylinder vibration in your GLEANER Farm Equipment, clean material from inside of cylinder bars if there is dirt and material stuck to the inside. Place the cylinder drive gearbox in neutral and operate the cylinder drive through its variable speed range to determine if the vibration is still present to determine if the vibration is caused by cylinder drive.
