Hi.
This information is for you who likes to have them written on paper.
You will get the same and more updated info when downloading the App,
Gobius, from Internet, Google play and App Store.
Please note that you have to get the App before installing the sensor.
You do all settings from the App.
After installation you dont need the App for using the Gobius Pro.
If you connect a panel like our Gobius fish with 2 LEDs in red and green,
you dont need your phone to use the sensor.
1
Download the Gobius App from Google Play or App Store.
2
In the Gobius Pro box you get:
- 1 sensor with 2 m cable
- 1 tank surface 3M Cleaner
- 1 extra 3M sensor tape
- 1 panel (the Gobius fish) with
1 red and 1 green LED light
3
Check the tank wall thickness. If its thicker than the specification,
Gobius Pro will not work.
- Stainless Steel & Steel 3 mm
- Polyethene, 12 mm
- Aluminium, 5 mm
- Fibre Glass, 8 mm
4
There are some more important things you have to consider
before mounting the sensor on the tank wall.
- Don’t put the sensor closer than 35 mm from an edge,
or another sensor and always on a vertical side of the
tank.
- The tank wall temperature has to be above + 20 C (+ 68 F).
If its below the tape will not work satisfying. A heat gun
or a hair dryer can be useful when you need to heat up
the tank wall. After the installation the sensor will work
between -10 C and + 60 C.

Overview

The Gobius Pro is a wireless tank monitoring system designed for various fluid tanks, offering an easy-to-install and user-friendly solution for monitoring tank levels. It operates by sensing fluid levels from the outside of the tank, eliminating the need for internal tank modifications.

Function Description:

The Gobius Pro system provides real-time monitoring of fluid levels in tanks, communicating wirelessly with a smartphone application via Bluetooth. It can be configured to monitor different types of fluids, including water, gasoline, diesel, grey water, waste/black water, and oil. The system allows users to set alarms for specific fluid levels (above or below the sensor) and offers digital outputs for connecting external indicators like lamps, relays, or buzzers. A unique feature is the "Gobius fish" panel, which includes red and green LED lights to visually indicate tank status without requiring a smartphone. The system supports up to nine sensors on a single tank, and the app can manage multiple tanks, making it suitable for complex setups.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Tank Wall Thickness Compatibility:
    • Stainless Steel & Steel: 3 mm
    • Polyethene: 12 mm
    • Aluminium: 5 mm
    • Fibre Glass: 8 mm
  • Power Supply: 12-24 volts (supports both polarities without damage)
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth for communication with Android and iOS smartphones.
  • Sensor Placement: Minimum 35 mm (1 3/8") from an edge or another sensor, always on a vertical side of the tank.
  • Operating Temperature: The sensor functions between -10°C and +60°C.
  • Installation Temperature: Tank wall temperature must be above +20°C (+68°F) during installation for optimal tape adhesion.
  • Digital Outputs: Each sensor has two digital outputs (On & Off signal) for external connections.
  • Measurement Period: Configurable from 10 seconds to 48 hours, or "Never."

Usage Features:

  • Smartphone App: The Gobius App (available on Google Play and App Store) is central to the system. It's required for initial setup and configuration but not for continuous use after installation if a panel is connected.
  • Easy Installation: The sensor is mounted on the tank wall using 3M tape. The installation process involves cleaning the surface, ensuring the tank wall is not concave and is at the correct temperature, then pressing the sensor firmly.
  • Configuration Options:
    • Tank Naming: Users can assign a name to each tank.
    • Alarm Settings: Configure alarms to trigger when the fluid level is above or below the sensor, or set it to "Always off."
    • Fluid Type Selection: Choose from a list of fluid types to ensure accurate monitoring and appropriate display colors in the app.
    • Tank Material Selection: Specify the tank material for optimal sensor performance.
    • Digital Output Control: Configure the two digital outputs to be "Always off," "Always on," or to activate when the level is above or below the sensor.
  • Calibration: A simple 10-second calibration process is performed via the app, requiring the fluid level to be either full or empty during calibration.
  • Multi-Sensor Support: Install up to 9 sensors on one tank, with the app managing multiple tanks. When installing multiple sensors, always start with the lowest one.
  • Visual Indicators: The app displays fluid levels with a bar chart (for more than two sensors) or a dot (for one or two sensors), changing colors based on fluid type. It also shows Bluetooth connection status.
  • Audible Feedback: The sensor provides an audible signal when connected via Bluetooth ("Hello" function).
  • External Panel Integration: The included "Gobius fish" panel with red and green LEDs provides a quick visual status without needing the app. For example, the red LED can light up when the level is above the sensor, and the green LED can indicate power to the sensor.
  • Extra Measurement: An "extra measurement" can be initiated from the app's configuration icon.
  • Settings Editing: Tank names, measurement periods, digital outputs, and warning settings can be changed at any time. A new calibration will apply to all sensors on the tank.

Maintenance Features:

  • No Internal Tank Access Required: Since the sensor mounts externally, there's no need to open or modify the tank for installation or sensor replacement, simplifying maintenance and reducing potential for leaks.
  • Temperature Considerations: During installation, ensuring the tank wall temperature is above +20°C (+68°F) is crucial for the 3M tape's adhesion. A heat gun or hair dryer can be used if needed. After installation, the sensor operates reliably across a wide temperature range.
  • App Updates: The app provides updated information, ensuring users have access to the latest features and improvements.
  • Support Information: The app's "ABOUT" section provides version number, developer names, direct mail contact for support, and information on GDPR and warranty issues.
