Indicator type BC-1-4 - Sectional View
Connection of the Outputs and the Potential-Fr
ee Relay Contacts on the Indicator
The indicator has 3 potential-free relay contacts.
The outputs Alarm 1 and Alarm 2 are intended for the actuation of external alarm units (for
the connection of the signalling or control devices of the overfill prevention divice).
The output Betrieb [Operation] is intended for connection of an external operation indicator
(lamp).
The outputs Alarm 1 and Alarm 2 are not monitored, i.e. a line disconnection or a short
circuit to the connected signalling or control devices is not recognised and indicated by the
measuring transducer.
Therefore, either the signalling and control devices must be switched in such a way that a
line disconnection is signalled (static current principle) or a functional control of the overfill
prevention divice (including the connected signalling and control devices with actuator) must
be carried out before each filling.
This can be done by pushing the Prüfen [Test] button at the measuring transducer – this
leads to an alarm signal, and possibly connected signalling and control devices are switched.
After release of the Prüfen [Test] button, the alarm signal goes out.
The indicated test does not replace the required annual test (see paragraph
MAINTENANCE).
