This document describes the Goodman GMVM96 / GCVM96 series of ComfortNet™-compatible, multi-position, modulating, variable-speed gas furnaces, designed for up to 96% AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency).

Function Description:

The GMVM96 and GCVM96 series furnaces are residential heating units that utilize natural gas or propane (with conversion kits) to provide warmth. They are designed for multi-position installation, allowing for upflow, downflow, or horizontal airflow configurations to suit various home layouts. A key feature is their modulating gas valve, which precisely adjusts the heat output to match the heating demand, leading to consistent temperatures and improved energy efficiency. The variable-speed circulator motor further enhances comfort by providing quiet and efficient airflow. These furnaces are compatible with ComfortNet™ Communicating Systems, enabling advanced control and diagnostics when paired with compatible thermostats. They can be configured for sealed combustion direct vent (2-pipe) or non-direct vent (1-pipe) applications.

Important Technical Specifications:

AFUE: Up to 96% for GMVM96 models (96% for 0603BX, 0805CX, 1005DX; 95% for 1155DX) and up to 96% for GCVM96 models (96% for 0604CX, 0805DX; 95% for 1005DX).
Heat Exchanger: Aluminized-steel, dual-diameter tubular primary heat exchanger and a stainless-steel secondary heat exchanger.
Gas Valve: Self-calibrating, modulating gas valve, capable of operating with two-stage or single-stage thermostats.
Circulator Motor: Efficient and quiet variable-speed circulator motor. Horsepower varies by model: 3/4 HP for 0603BX and 0604CX, 1 HP for 0805CX, 1005DX, 1155DX, and 0805DX, 1005DX.
Vent Diameter: 2" or 3" PVC, depending on furnace input, number of elbows, length of run, and installation type.
Electrical Supply: All furnaces are manufactured for use on 115 VAC, 60 Hz, single-phase electrical supply.
Heating Capacity (High Fire Input): Ranges from 60,000 BTU/h (0603BX, 0604CX) to 115,000 BTU/h (1155DX).
Heating Capacity (Low Fire Input): Ranges from 30,000 BTU/h (0603BX, 0604CX) to 57,500 BTU/h (1155DX).
Temperature Rise Range: Varies by model, e.g., 20-50°F for 0603BX, 35-65°F for 0805CX, 1005DX, 1155DX, and 20-50°F for 0604CX, 0805DX, 25-55°F for 1005DX.
Cabinet Air Leakage (QLeak): ≤ 2%.
Dimensions: Cabinet widths vary: 17½" (0603BX), 21" (0805CX, 0604CX), 24½" (1005DX, 1155DX, 0805DX, 1005DX). All models have a depth of 28¾" and a height of 40¾".
Ship Weight: Ranges from 135 lbs (0603BX) to 170 lbs (1005DX, 1155DX, 1005DX).
NOx Emissions: All models comply with California NOx emissions standards.
