Dear Customer,
Appropriate use
Safety instructions
for car jacks
t
Instruction manual
Thank you for buying this trolley jack. Before putting it into operation and
using it, please carefully read the instructions for use and strictly follow
the notes therein. Following these instructions is necessary to prevent pos-
sible risks such as material damage and injuries.
Before using the floor jack, familiarise yourself with it and its functions so
that you can operate it correctly and above all safely. In case of uncertain-
ty and questions, please consult your dealer so that you can be told how to
operate it.
The manufacturer is not responsible for injuries and damage resulting from
these operating instructions being ignored.
Put these instructions on display so they can be read through later and
hand them out with the floor jack if you pass it onto other people.
This floor jack is only designed for lifting and lowering vehicles with a
maximum rated load of 3000 kg (3.0 t). The floor jack 10640 complies with
EN 1494/A1: 2008. Only for personal use. All other applications are prohibited.
1. Only use the car jack for its intended purpose.
2. Use the car jack exclusively for raising and lowering of vehicles. Never raise
people with the car jack!
3. Always be careful and attentive when handling the car jack. When attaching
and removing accessories, such as the lifting rod, pay attention to your
hands and fingers, as there is a risk of crushing.
4. Before lifting, secure the vehicle to be lifted against accidental rolling away.
Apply the parking brake and engage a gear. Lock the wheels that cannot be
lifted with suitable wedges.
5. The car jack is only intended for lifting and lowering the vehicle. Secure the
lifted vehicle against accidental lowering by using suitable chassis stands.
Do not work under the lifted load if it is not secured by suitable means.
6. The manual force to be applied is more than 400N, therefore we ask you to
enlist a second person for help.
7. Make sure that the lifted vehicle cannot move on the car jack.
8. Only use the car jack on a firm, level and dry surface. The load can easily slip
on unpaved, uneven or damp/wet surfaces.
9. Always support the vehicle in the middle section of the take-up stand.
10. Do not exceed the permissible nominal load! The load on the car jack must
not exceed 3.0 tons, as it may be damaged in the event of overloading (e.g.
overloading of the mechanical properties) and as a result personal safety
will no longer be guaranteed.
11. Ensure that the car jack is centrally located and stable with the load support
under the lifting point of the vehicle to be lifted. Only attach the car jack to
the lifting points marked by the vehicle manufacturer. Suitable adapters may
have to be used in order to avoid damage to the mounting points on the
vehicle. For more information, read the operating instructions for your
vehicle. Please contact an authorised specialist workshop if you have any
doubts concerning the correct mounting points on the vehicle.
12. When lifting and lowering, make sure that there are no pets, persons or body
parts in the area of the load arm, cylinder or mechanisms.
13. Never allow persons to be in or under the vehicle to be lifted when using the
car jack.
14. Ensure that no persons lean against the lifted vehicle.
15. Do not use the car jack outdoors in frost or rain.
