Overview

This document serves as the Owner's Manual for Gree's Multi Variable Air Conditioners Heat Storage Module, providing original instructions for commercial air conditioners. It emphasizes safe installation, operation, and maintenance practices to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the unit.

The heat storage module is designed to be a concealed ceiling-type unit, integrating seamlessly into various commercial environments. Its primary function is to contribute to the overall efficiency and performance of a multi-variable air conditioning system by storing and releasing thermal energy. This capability allows for more stable and consistent temperature control, potentially reducing energy consumption by optimizing the system's operation. The module is intended for use in conjunction with indoor and outdoor units of a larger VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) system.

Usage Features:

The manual outlines several key aspects for proper usage and installation:

  • Installation Environment: The product is not intended for installation in corrosive, flammable, or explosive environments, or in places with special requirements like kitchens. Such conditions can negatively impact normal operation, shorten service life, or even pose fire or serious injury hazards. For these specific environments, specialized anti-corrosive or anti-explosion air conditioners are recommended.
  • Stand-by Power Consumption: To maintain normal system communication and preheat refrigerant and lubricant, the unit may consume some power in stand-by mode. If the product is not used for extended periods, it is advised to cut off the power supply. Before reusing, the unit should be energized and preheated in advance.
  • Model Selection: Users are advised to select the appropriate model based on the actual operating environment to ensure optimal convenience and performance.
  • Self-Disassembly Prohibition: The product undergoes strict inspection and operational testing before leaving the factory. Users are explicitly warned against disassembling the unit themselves to avoid damage that could affect normal operation. In case of issues, contact a special maintenance center.
  • Ventilation: When gas or oil heaters are used in the room, it is important to open doors and windows frequently to ensure good ventilation and prevent oxygen deficiency.
  • Power Cord and Communication Line: Proper connection of the power cord and communication line is critical. The power cord diameter must be sufficient, and damaged cords or connection wires must be replaced with special cables. Communication lines, especially in areas with strong electromagnetic interference, should be twisted pair lines with shielding. The communication line should also be separated from the power cord and connecting wires of indoor and outdoor units to prevent interference.
  • Horizontal Alignment: After installation, the heat storage module must be horizontally aligned from front to back and slanted 1% from left to right, following the drainage direction, to ensure proper water drainage.
  • Static Pressure Adjustment: If the project requires higher static pressure, this can be set through the wired controller.

Maintenance Features:

The manual provides clear guidelines for general maintenance, both before and after the use season, and emphasizes safety during these procedures:

  • Safety First: Before any cleaning or maintenance, the unit must be turned off, and the power supply disconnected to prevent electric shock or personal injury.
  • Stable Platform: When cleaning the heat storage module, a stable standing platform should be used for safety.
  • Cleaning Agents: Do not clean the unit with hot water exceeding 45°C, as this can cause the unit to lose color or deform. Volatile liquids like thinner or gasoline are also prohibited as they can damage the heat storage module.
  • Professional Assistance: In case of any problems or malfunctions, users are advised to contact an after-sales service agent for assistance rather than attempting repairs themselves. Improper maintenance can lead to electric shock or fire hazards.
  • Pre-Season Check: Before the use season, it is important to check the grounding wire condition and ensure all wire connections are correct.
  • Post-Season Care: If the heat storage module will not be used for a long time, the power should be disconnected.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual includes a troubleshooting section for common issues, such as an inconsistent project code for the indoor unit. It provides instructions on how to access and adjust the project code on the main board. If issues persist after troubleshooting, users are instructed to stop using the unit immediately and contact the local service center.
  • Abnormal Conditions: If any abnormal circumstances occur, such as a burning smell, the unit must be turned off, the main power supply cut off immediately, and Gree's appointed service center contacted. Ignoring these signs can lead to unit damage, electric shock, or fire hazards.

The manual also highlights the importance of using dedicated components and accessories for installation to prevent water leakage, electric shock, and fire hazards. It stresses that installation should be performed by distributors or qualified technicians, not by the user, to avoid issues like water leakage, refrigerant leakage, electric shock, or fire. All illustrations and information in the manual are for reference, as Gree continuously improves its products and reserves the right to revise contents without further notice. The final right to interpret the instruction manual belongs to Gree Electric Appliances Inc. of Zhuhai.
