24 External fan fault
The fan warning function is an extra protection
function that checks if the fan is running/mounted.
The fan warning can be disabled in parameter 14-53
Fan Monitor ([0] Disabled).
For the D, E, and F Frame drives, the regulated
voltage to the fans is monitored.
Check fan resistance.
Check soft charge fuses.

29 Heat sink temp
The maximum temperature of the heat sink has
been exceeded. The temperature fault will not be
reset until the temperature falls below a defined
heat sink temperature. The trip and reset points are
different based on the drive power size.
• The ambient temperature too high.
• Too long motor cable.
• Incorrect clearance above and below the
drive.
• Dirty heat sink.
• Blocked air flow around the drive.
• Damaged heat sink fan.
• For the D, E, and F Frame Drives, this
alarm is based on the temperature
measured by the heat sink sensor
mounted inside the IGBT modules. For
the F Frame drives, this alarm can also be
caused by the thermal sensor in the
Rectifier module.
• Troubleshooting:
• Check fan resistance.
• Check soft charge fuses.
• Check IGBT thermal sensor.

Motor phase U
missing
Motor phase U between the adjustable frequency
drive and the motor is missing.
Turn off the adjustable frequency drive and
check motor phase U.

Motor phase V
missing
Motor phase V between the adjustable frequency
drive and the motor is missing.
Turn off the adjustable frequency drive and
check motor phase V.

Motor phase W
missing
Motor phase W between the adjustable frequency
drive and the motor is missing.
Turn off the adjustable frequency drive and
check motor phase W.

35 Option fault
An option alarm is received. The alarm is option-
specific.
• Wait for 30 seconds until the drive is
completely powered on.
• Check the communication.

36 Mains failure
This warning/alarm is only active if the supply
voltage to the adjustable frequency drive is lost and
parameter "14-10 Mains Failure" is not set to OFF.
Check the fuses to the adjustable frequency
drive.

38 Internal fault
• Cycle the power.
• Check that the option is properly installed.
• Check for loose or missing wiring.
• Contact Grundfos Service.

39 Heat sink sensor
No feedback from the heat sink temperature sensor.
The signal from the IGBT thermal sensor is not
available on the power card.
• Check the ribbon cable between the
power card and the gate drive card.
• Check for a defective power card.
• Check for a defective gate drive card.
