Function Description:

The Hampton Bay 11 ft. LED offset solar umbrella is designed to provide outdoor shade and illumination. Its offset design allows for flexible placement without a central pole obstructing the space beneath. The integrated LED lights, powered by a solar receiver, offer ambient lighting for evening use. Usage Features:

  • Assembly: The guide emphasizes assembling the umbrella on a soft, non-abrasive surface and notes that more than one person may be required due to its weight. It details the step-by-step process of attaching brackets, the lower umbrella pole, corner connectors, lock panels, and side panels. Crucially, it instructs users to place and fill sand bags (N) into the umbrella base for stability, requiring 220 lbs of sand in total. The locking mechanism of the base covers must be ensured to be in the open position before attaching and then locked into the close position. The locking knob (D) is attached to the lower umbrella pole (C) to secure the umbrella shade. The umbrella shade (G) needs to be prepared by snapping a hinge slide into place. The solar receiver (E) is attached to the umbrella shade (G) and its plug inserted. It is recommended to leave the solar receiver in a sunny area to charge before the first use of the LED lights. Finally, the umbrella shade (G) is inserted into the lower umbrella pole (C) and locked into place using the locking knob (D).
  • Crank Operation: The crank (F) can be attached to the handle in two ways: by aligning a tap with a hole until it snaps into place (detachable with a hex wrench) or by simply pushing it in without using the tap (easily detachable).
  • Raising the Umbrella: To raise the umbrella, the knob on the umbrella shade (G) is loosened by turning it counterclockwise. The umbrella handle is then pushed upward until the umbrella is fully extended, and the knob is tightened clockwise to lock it.
  • Opening the Umbrella: The Velcro belt on the canopy is undone, and the canopy is shaken to separate the ribs. The crank (F) is turned clockwise to open the umbrella. Once fully open, a belt under the hinge of the short bent tube is fastened to stabilize the umbrella.
  • Operating the Umbrella (Rotation and Angle Adjustment): The umbrella can be rotated up to 360 degrees. To rotate, the locking knob (D) is rotated 180 degrees clockwise, the umbrella handle is held with one hand, and the short bent tube with the other hand to rotate the umbrella to the desired position. The knob is then rotated 180 degrees clockwise to lock it. The umbrella shade (G) can be rotated until the locking knob (D) automatically secures it. To adjust the angle, the knob on the umbrella shade (G) is fully loosened counterclockwise, and the umbrella handle is slid down. Once the desired angle is achieved, the knob is fully tightened clockwise.
  • LED Light Operation: The LED lights are turned on and off using an ON/OFF switch.
  • Closing the Umbrella: The Velcro belt is loosened. The crank is turned counterclockwise to close the umbrella. When closed, the knob on the umbrella shade (G) is fully loosened counterclockwise. The handle is held, and the long bent tube is pulled downward. The knob on the umbrella shade (G) is then tightened clockwise to secure it. To return the umbrella shade to its original position before closing, the knob is loosened, the handle is slid upwards, and the knob is fully tightened once the long bent tube is pushed to the top.
  • Storing the Umbrella: When not in use, the umbrella should be tied to the umbrella pole with the Velcro belt.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: For best results, the frame and fabric should be cleaned with a damp cloth and dried thoroughly to prevent mildew. Abrasive materials, bleach, or solvents should not be used.
  • Storage: The umbrella should be stored in a dry, sheltered place when not in use.
  • Wind Protection: On windy days, the canopy should be tied closed to prevent damage.
  • Environmental Protection: The umbrella should be kept away from fire, extreme heat, freezing conditions, and inclement weather such as rain, hail, sleet, snow, or strong winds.
  • Replacing LED Lights: If an LED light or its cover breaks or malfunctions, it can be replaced. The LED light cover (P) is gently removed by turning it counterclockwise, and the LED light is pulled out. A replacement LED light (O) is inserted, and the replacement LED light cover (P) is reinstalled by turning it clockwise. If the light still does not work, reversing the polarity is suggested.

Warranty:

The product comes with a 2-year frame warranty and a 5-year fabric warranty, covering manufacturing defects to the original purchaser. The warranty does not cover commercial use, hardware, acts of nature, fire, freezing, abusive use, or purchase parts. The manufacturer reserves the right to substitute with similar merchandise if the model is no longer in production.
