Burn Pot Cleaning and Maintenance
Wheneveraddingfuel,taketheopportunitytocleantheburn
pot.(Weekly at minimum)
• Scrape the top holed surface and sides of the burn
potdowntoaugertube.(Fig58)Itis notnecessaryto
completely remove all material from the burn pot. The
excesswillbepushedoutduringthenextuse.
Monthly, or after each ton of fuel burned:
• Loosenthe(2)wingthumbscrewsonthelowerfrontangle
oftheburnpot.(Fig.59)
• Liftofftheclean-outcover(Fig.59)toopenthebottom
clean-outchamber.(Fig.60)
• Cleanashbuildupfrominsidethechamberwhilecover
isoff.Usethescrapertotaponthetopfrontedgeofthe
burn pot.This will help knock pieces of ash, loosened
bythescrapingprocess,downthroughtheholes.Italso
helpsknockscaleoffoftheigniterelement.

Theigniterismadetoberemovableforservicebyinsulated
male/femalewireconnectors.Theseconnectionsbetween
thehotleads(the wires insidetheburnpot) and thecold
leads(thewiresfromthecontrolboard)arealwayspulled
totheinsiderearofthefeederbody. (Not coiled inside the
burn pot.)
Itisveryimportantthattheseconnectionsaretotheinside
rearofthefeederbody.Also,theextrawireoftheigniterwire
serviceloopmustbepulledoutthroughtherearofthefeeder
andtiedupsothatitwillnotbedamagedbyanymovingparts.
DANGER
Disconnect the power to the unit before removing
cover.
Note: The hot lead/cold lead connection must always be
pulled to the rear of the feeder body before operation.
