  If you notice a hum or buzz that changes as you adjust the mixer levels on your Harman speakers, it could be due to an improper A/C ground or faulty equipment connected to the mixer input. Try disconnecting or muting channels one at a time to identify the source of the problem. Refer to the owner’s manual of the faulty equipment for troubleshooting assistance. It can also be caused by a faulty cable between the source equipment and mixer, in that case substitute a known-good cable for the suspected faulty cable.

  Excessive hiss in the sound, especially when mixer controls are set very low, often points to improper gain structure. Ensure the MIC/LINE switch is in the LINE (disengaged) position. Mic/Line switch operation will be a little different. Reduce the level settings at the speaker. Also, consult your mixer's manual to adjust input sensitivity (gain), channel faders and master faders as needed.
