Network Size Typical Data rate per Radio
2 75 kbps to 1.5 Mbps
10 10 kbps to 250 kbps
ANW2 has 2 selectable bandwidths 1.2 MHz and 5 MHz and 7 different modems.
With all radios simultaneously transmitting, the data rate per radio varies
depending on the network size and channel conditions. The size of the Control
Channel varies depending on the number of radios in the network and so does
the Voice to a certain extent. The remaining section for Data is then divided
equally among the radios. The fewer radios the higher the data rate per radio.
Depending on the channel conditions the radios will auto negotiate which Modem
(WF1 –WF7) to use. The lower the Modem number the lower the data rate but
greater the transmission distance.
For example: WF1 has a Max Data Rate of 85 kbps that is shared between 2 to
10 radios and can transmit to the maximum range. WF7 has a Max Data Rate of
4.725 Mbps shared between 2 to 10 radios but can only transmit shorter
distances.
