  If the pilot and main burner extinguish during operation, here's what you can check: * Ensure that the L.P. (Propane) tank is filled. * Inspect the inner flue pipe for exhaust gas leaks. * Make sure the glass assembly is correctly installed and tightened, especially at the corners, to prevent gasket leaks. * Verify that the horizontal flue is properly pitched with a maximum downward slope of 1/4 inch. * Consider replacing the thermopile or thermocouple if needed. * Confirm that the flue cap is correctly installed and free from obstructions.

  If the spark ignitor doesn't light the pilot after pressing the red button repeatedly: 1. Check for a spark at the electrode and pilot. If there's no spark and the electrode wire is connected properly, replace the ignitor. 2. If the ignitor seems defective, you can try lighting the pilot with a match. If it lights, turn off the pilot and trigger the red button again. If the pilot lights, a longer purge period is recommended due to an improper gas/air mixture. 3. Check the unit's shut-off valve and any remote shut-off valves from the heater for gas supply. Ensure there are no kinked lines. Low pressure can be caused by a bent line or too narrow diameter of pipe. If problems persist, consult a plumber or gas supplier. 4. Make sure that the L.P. (propane) tank is filled.

Why does the flame burn blue and lift off the burner in my Heat & Glo Indoor Fireplace?

  If the flame burns blue and lifts off the burner, it may be due to insufficient oxygen. Check that the flue cap is properly installed and free of debris. Ensure flue system joints are tight and leak-free. Also, verify that no material has been placed at the burner base and that the glass is properly tightened, especially at the top corners.

  Frequent pilot outages may occur if the pilot flame is too high, too low, or blowing, causing the pilot safety to drop out. To resolve this, clean and adjust the pilot flame to ensure maximum flame impingement on the thermocouple, and carefully follow the lighting instructions.

  If the pilot won't stay lit even after following the lighting instructions, it could be due to: * A defective thermocouple: Ensure the pilot flame impinges on the thermocouple. Clean and/or adjust the pilot for maximum flame impingement. Make sure the thermocouple connection at the gas valve is fully inserted and tight. Test the thermocouple output; if it's less than 15 millivolts, replace it. * A defective valve: If the thermocouple produces more than 15 millivolts, the valve may be faulty and needs replacement.
