  If your HemoCue Blood Glucose Meter displays ECU, it means the cuvette is empty or not filled with enough sample, or no chemical reaction is identified in the blood-filled cuvette. Fill a new cuvette and immediately place it in the analyzer. If the ECU function appears again, contact your local distributor or HemoCue AB. Use another HemoCue analyzer or a suitable laboratory reference method to analyze the specimen.

What does error code E70-E71 mean on my HemoCue Blood Glucose Meter?

  If your HemoCue Blood Glucose Meter shows error code E70–E71, it means that the cuvette is faulty or the sample might be grossly lipemic. Ensure the system is used according to the instructions. Fill a new cuvette and place it immediately in the analyzer. If the error code appears again, use a suitable laboratory reference method to analyze the specimen.

  If your HemoCue Blood Glucose Meter displays error code E06, it indicates an unstable blank value, possibly because the analyzer is cold. Turn off the analyzer and allow it to reach room temperature. If the problem persists, the analyzer needs service. Contact your local distributor.

  If the HemoCue Blood Glucose Meter display does not switch from “6” and “GLU” to three flashing dashes, the magnet in the cuvette holder may be missing, or the magnetic sensor is out of order. The analyzer needs service. Contact your local distributor.
