4 - LIGHTING AND REGULATING
COMBUSTION
Follow the instrucons below to regulate
combuson:
Move the regulaon valve from right to le
to provide a greater inow of air to favour
combuson (FIG. 5).
When lighng, we recommend moving the
combuson regulaon valve completely to the
le.
It is essenal to provide an abundant load of fuel
when lighng. The following loads will depend on
the heat requirement desired.
EIt is advisable to leave the door parally open to
avoid condensaon and to keep the glass clean
for some minutes aer lighng the re.
Once the replace is working at its normal level and
the chimney has heated up, regulate combuson
by means of the regulaon valve. When the inow
of air is fully closed, combuson will be slow; when
the inow of air is open, combuson will be more
intense.
For the best performance from your appliance,
place the combuson regulaon valve in the
central posion.
If the compact replace is used in a room together
with other heang appliances that also need air for
combuson purposes, it is advisable to prepare an
addional air intake of outside air to facilitate the
said combuson processes.
The use of one or more heang devices in the
same room reduces the level of available oxygen,
aecng the combuson of the replace and
reducing the draw of the chimney.
Actuang the control valve as described in the
previous steps, provides a greater inow of air for
the combuson process; this provision of air takes
place at the height of the andiron and the upper
part of the glass. Check when loading that the air
inlet at the height of andiron is free from ashes.
Otherwise, clean it to provide a proper combuson
process. This will contribute to the dual purpose of
keeping the glass clean and facilitang the lighng
up process.
ATTENTION! When working, the metal parts
of the replace may reach high temperatures.
Protect your hands with a reproof glove when
touching the said parts.
If you should detect any overheang of the
replace caused by:
Fan breakdown. Faulty thermostat.
The re must be put out to avoid possible damage
to the compact replace and to its coang. Follow
these recommendaons:
Do not add any more fuel
Open the door slightly to let more air in; this
will cause the ames to grow and consume the
fuel more quickly but will also cool the chimney
and reduce draw, cooling the appliance.
The compact SERE has been designed to operate
using intermient combuson processes.
