Trouble Recovery
12.While lifting the fuel tank,insert the knotted end of the emergency starter rope into the notch
in to ywheel rotor and wind the rope several turns clockwise.
NOTE:
If the rope is too long after winding it around the ywheel, shorten its length at the handle.
13.Pull the rope slowly until resistance is felt.
14.Give a strong pull straight out to crank and start the engine. Repeat if necessary.
Treatment of submerged motor
If the outboard motor is submerged, immediately take it to a yours dealer. Otherwise some
corrosion may begin almost immediate.
If you cannot immediately take the outboard motor to a yours dealer, follow the procedure below in order
to minimize engine damage.
Procedure
1. Thoroughly wash away mud, salt, seaweed, and so on, with fresh water.
2. Remove the spark plug(s), then face the spark plug holes downward to allow any water, mud, or
contaminants to drain.
3. Drain the fuel from the carburetor, fuel lter, and fuel line. Drain the engine oil completely.
