Overview

The DDS238-4 W is a multi-function smart energy meter designed to measure single-phase two-wire AC active energy and various parameters. It features both RS485 and Wi-Fi communication, allowing for remote reading and on/off control via a dedicated application. The meter's functions comply with IEC62053-21 for class 1 single-phase watt-hour meters, and its data communication adheres to MODBUS-RTU and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n standards. It is designed for long life, offering high stability, high overload capability, low power loss, and a compact size.

Function Description

The meter measures positive and negative active energy, with negative energy accumulated into positive energy. It also displays real-time values for voltage, current, active power, power factor, and frequency. A pulse LED indicates the meter's operation, and a pulse output with optical coupling isolation (18-27V, 27mA) is available. The device measures active energy without requiring calibration for long-term operation and allows step-by-step display navigation using a button.

Key features include:

  • Remote Control: The meter can be controlled remotely via an APP for data reading and on/off functions.
  • Protection Features: It incorporates overvoltage, undervoltage, and overload protection, with configurable values via the APP.
  • Timing Control: A timing control function, also configurable through the APP, allows for scheduled on/off operations.
  • Energy Reset: The active energy can be reset to zero via the APP.

Installation:

  • Mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail.
  • Must be checked and sealed before use.
  • Install in a waterproof box indoors or outdoors, fixed on a strong, flame-resistant wall at a recommended height of about 1.8m, away from corrosive gases.
  • Connect according to the diagram on the terminal cover, preferably using copper wire, ensuring all screws are tightened.

Wi-Fi Connection:

  • Pushing the setting button for 5 seconds puts the meter into Wi-Fi distribution network waiting status (Wi-Fi LED flashes 1s interval).
  • A solid Wi-Fi LED (on for 5s, off for 0.1s) indicates successful connection.
  • Use the "WISEN" APP (downloadable via QR code) to add the device.
  • The APP requires the phone to be connected to an available 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (5GHz is not supported).
  • Input the Wi-Fi network account and password in the APP to complete the connection.

APP Interface:

  • Home Screen: Displays online/offline status of devices.
  • Meter Detail: Shows total active energy, total active power, import/export active energy, contrast active energy, frequency, R.M.S voltage, current, active power, reactive power, and power factor.
