Overview

This document provides a comprehensive guide for the Hisense HWFL1014V/HWFL1014VS/HWFL1014VT washing machine, detailing its functions, usage, and maintenance. The machine is equipped with automatic safety functions to detect and diagnose issues early, ensuring reliable operation.

Function Description

The washing machine offers a wide range of programs and functions to cater to various laundry needs. The control panel features an "On/Off" button, "Start/Pause" button, program selector, and a display window for program and function status. Dedicated buttons for "Temp," "Rinse," "Spin," "Favourite," "Options," and "Delay End" allow for precise control over the wash cycle.

Programs: The machine includes programs for different fabric types and soiling levels:

  • Cotton: For heavily and moderately soiled cotton or linen, with an option for "Prewash" for very heavily soiled items.
  • Synthetics: For moderately soiled synthetics and cotton-blended fabrics.
  • Wool: Specifically for machine-washable wool, adhering to washing label instructions.
  • Quick 15': For cotton and mixed fabrics worn for a short time or newly bought.
  • Mix: For mixed loads of moderately soiled cotton and synthetic fabrics.
  • Jeans: A dedicated program for jeans.
  • Rinse + Spin: Defaults to two rinses and a spin cycle.
  • Spin: Allows manual selection of spin length and speed.
  • Skin Care: Includes extra rinse time to ensure no residual detergent, protecting sensitive skin.
  • Baby Care: Designed to effectively eliminate bacteria, suitable for baby clothes and sensitive individuals.
  • Shirts: For non-iron shirts or blouses made of cotton, linen, synthetic fibers, or blended fabrics.
  • Dark Wash: For dark textiles and easy-care dark textiles.
  • Sportswear: For sportswear and leisure wear made from microfiber fabrics.
  • Duvet: For machine-washable items stuffed with synthetic fibers, pillows, quilts, bedspreads, and items stuffed with down.
  • Silk/Delicate: For soft delicate fabrics and machine-washable silk.
  • Drum Clean: A program to remove dirt and bacterial residue from the machine, especially after regular low-temperature washes.

Detergent Compartment: The detergent drawer has three chambers:

  • Prewash chamber: For prewash or soak detergent.
  • Mainwash chamber: For main wash detergent, stain remover, and water softener.
  • Softener chamber: For fabric softener and liquid starch. Additives should only be poured up to the "MAX" mark.

Additional Functions:

  • Pre-wash: Enhances washing effects and stain removal, suitable for heavy dirt. Detergent for pre-wash and main wash should be added to their respective boxes.
  • ECO: Reduces temperature by 5°C and main wash time, canceling the weighing function. The ECO indicator lamp flashes during the program and turns off at the end.
  • Intensive: Prolongs washing time and strengthens washing effects for better stain removal.
  • Ironing Spin: Sets maximum dehydration speed to 1000 rpm. Cannot be selected if a speed over 1000 rpm is already chosen.
  • Rinse: Adds an extra rinse process before the softening program, increasing total operating time. Default rinse times can be increased up to 5 times.
  • Delay End: Allows scheduling the machine to run at a later time (e.g., at night for cheaper electricity). The delay time must be longer than the wash program length.
  • Favourite: Memorizes selected program, temperature, rotational speed, and other settings by long-pressing the "Favorite" key for 3 seconds. Short-pressing recalls the stored program.
  • Mute Function: Activates/deactivates buzzing sounds by pressing "Rinse + Spin" buttons for 2 seconds.
  • Automatic Weighting: Displays "----" at startup, automatically adjusting program length based on clothes weight.
  • Child Lock: Locks all function buttons by pressing "Temp. + Rinse" for 2 seconds. Releases automatically after program completion or by turning off the machine.

Usage Features

Starting a Program:

  1. Load clothes into the drum and close the door.
  2. Add detergent to the appropriate compartments.
  3. Press the "On/Off" button.
  4. Use the program selector to choose the desired program (defaults to "Cotton").
  5. Select washing temperature, spin speed, and extra rinse times using "Temp," "Spin," and "Rinse" buttons.
  6. Press "Options" to select additional functions.
  7. Turn on the water tap and press "Start/Pause." The display shows program progression and remaining time.

Canceling/Reselecting a Program:

  1. Press "On/Off" for 2 seconds to turn off the machine.
  2. Press "On/Off" again to turn on.
  3. Select a new program and options.
  4. Press "Start/Pause" to start the new program without adding detergent.

Reloading Clothes:

  • Press "Start/Pause" during washing. If the reload icon lights up, the door can be opened. If it doesn't light up, the temperature is over 50°C or the reloading time has passed, preventing clothes from being added.

Sorting Laundry:

  • Type of fabric: Separate cottons, mixed fibers, synthetics, wool, and handwash items. Woolmark-approved wool wash cycles are available.
  • Colour: Separate colored and white items. Wash new colored articles separately.
  • Loading: Mix different sizes to improve washing efficiency.
  • Delicates: Wash small items (nylon stockings, belts) and items with hooks (bras) in a cloth bag or pillow case. Remove curtain rings or wash curtains with rings inside a cotton bag.
  • Empty pockets: Remove coins, safety pins, etc., to prevent damage.
  • Fasteners: Close zips, fasten buttons/hooks, and tie loose belts/ribbons.
  • Stain removal: Blood, milk, eggs are typically removed by the automatic enzyme phase. For red wine, coffee, tea, grass, and fruit stains, use a stain remover in the main wash chamber. Pre-treat heavily-soiled areas if necessary.
  • Dyeing: Use only dyes suitable for washing machines and follow manufacturer instructions.

Detergent Usage:

  • Use high-efficiency, low-foam detergent for front-load machines.
  • Choice of detergent depends on fabric type, color, wash temperature, and soiling degree.
  • Follow dosage recommendations on the detergent pack, adjusting for soiling, load size, and water hardness.
  • Too much detergent can cause excess foam, reducing efficiency and potentially preventing spinning. Insufficient detergent can lead to gray laundry and calcification of the heating system.
  • Liquid detergents can be used for programs with prewash, but powder detergent must be used for the main wash. Do not use liquid detergents with "Start Delay."
  • Store detergents and additives out of reach of children.

Water Inlet:

  • Connect the water supply inlet hose according to local regulations.
  • Single inlet models use cold water only; dual inlet models use hot and cold water.
  • Ensure connections are tightly fixed and not inverted.

Drain:

  • Connect the drain hose to a siphon or hook it over a sink using the "U" bend.
  • Ensure integrated drainage systems have a vent to prevent siphoning.
  • Securely fix the drain hose to prevent scalding.

Electrical Connection:

  • Connections must be done by a qualified technician according to manufacturer instructions and safety regulations.
  • Appliance must be earthed.
  • Do not use extension leads or multiple sockets.
  • Ensure socket capacity is sufficient for heating.
  • Disconnect from mains before maintenance.
  • Access to the mains plug or a double-pole switch must always be ensured.
  • Do not operate if damaged during transport.
  • Mains cable replacement must be done by After-Sales Service.
  • Appliance is for household use only.

Water Supply Hose:

  • Check regularly for brittleness and cracks. Replace with a new hose of the same type if necessary (available from After-Sales Service or specialist dealer).

Troubleshooting Guide:

  • No power/indicator lamps off: Check mains plug, socket, and power switch.
  • "Start/Pause" lamp flashes: Check door closure (child safety), "Start/Pause" button press, and water tap.
  • Appliance stops during program: Check "Rinse Hold" (terminate with "Start/Pause" or "Drain"), other program selected, door opened, excessive foam (machine enters kill-foam routine), or safety system activation.
  • Detergent residue: Check cover grid and separator in detergent dispenser, and sufficient water inflow (mesh filters).
  • Machine vibrates during spin: Check if machine is level, all four feet are firm, and transport bolts are removed.
  • Poor spin results: Machine has imbalance detection. If heavy items are loaded, spin speed may reduce or interrupt. Remove wet laundry and repeat spin. Excessive foam can prevent spinning. Check spin speed selector.
  • Program time lengthened/shortened: Normal adaptation to factors like excess foam, load imbalance, or prolonged heating time. Animation appears during updates.

Fault Code List:

  • "F01": Water inflow fault. Check faucet, water inlet pipe (knotted/blocked/frozen).
  • "F03": Drainage fault. Check drain pipe (knotted) and filter in drain pump (blocked/frozen).
  • "F13": Door lock abnormal. Start program for 20 seconds to unlock, then open/close.
  • "F14": Door open fault. Press "Start/Pause" to try opening, or "On/Off" to restart.
