Also, inspect the staple feeder for burrs, deformation, or damage; correct or replace as necessary. Similarly, check the ribbon spring; a fatigued or damaged spring should be replaced. If the staple rail width is too wide or the magazine cover is deformed or damaged, replace these parts. Adhesive fragments or wood chips on the magazine, staple feeder, or staple rail can also cause issues; clean these components and apply oil to the staple feeder.
