This document is an operation manual for the HITACHI Air Conditioner Managing System, specifically for Remote Access, model PSC-A128EX3. It provides instructions for setting up and using the remote access software to control and monitor air conditioning units.
Function Description
The HITACHI Air Conditioner Managing System with Remote Access (model PSC-A128EX3) allows users to remotely control and monitor air conditioners connected to a Central Station EX unit. This system is designed for standard air conditioning applications and operates within a Local Area Network (LAN) environment. It enables management of air conditioning units from a personal computer (PC) through the Central Station EX, either via a dedicated LAN, an existing LAN, or securely over the internet using a VPN router.
The system facilitates:
- Remote Control and Monitoring: Users can control and monitor air conditioning units from a PC.
- Energy Calculation and History: When used with Energy Calculation Software, it can provide energy consumption data and usage history.
- Alarm and Communication Status: Displays alarms, including communication failures between air conditioners and the system.
- Network Integration: Designed to integrate into various network environments, including dedicated LANs, existing LANs, and secure internet connections via VPN.
Important Technical Specifications
The Remote Access software requires a PC with specific minimum specifications:
- Operating System (OS): Windows 7® (32bit/64bit) Professional or Windows 10® (32bit/64bit) Pro.
- CPU: Intel® Core™ i3 2.0GHz or greater.
- Memory: 4GByte or more.
- Resolution: 1280 × 800 or more.
- Hard Disk Space:
- 16GByte for 32bit and 20GByte for 64bit as Windows® minimum system requirements.
- Additional space for VRF Remote Management Software: 1GByte or more for 1 connection (up to 16 connections), and 0.25GByte or more for 1 additional refrigerant cycle for energy calculation.
- Interface:
- IEEE802.3 (1000BASE-T) for Ethernet connection.
- SD memory card slot (for software installation or data saving).
- USB memory slot (for data saving).
- Software Requirement: Spreadsheet software such as Microsoft® Excel® is needed to open or edit output CSV files.
- Central Station EX Initial IP Address: 192.168.0.50.
- System Capacity: Up to 5 PCs with Remote Access software can be connected to one system. Up to 16 central controllers can be registered on one PC with Remote Access software, but one PC can access only one central controller at a time.
- External Input/Output: Maximum external input 128, maximum external output 128.
- RC-less Indoor Units: To connect RC-less indoor units (without remote controller) to the system, they need to support dual setpoint.
Usage Features
- Installation: The Remote Access software is installed from an SD memory card onto a PC. The installation process involves running an "installer.exe" file as an administrator, agreeing to a software license, entering a serial code ("60292296"), and proceeding with the installation. The software is installed on the C drive, and the installation destination cannot be changed.
- Network Configuration: The system can be configured in various network environments:
- Dedicated LAN: Central Station EX and PCs connect via an Ethernet® Hub.
- Existing LAN: Central Station EX and PCs connect to an existing Trunk LAN via an Ethernet® Hub.
- Internet Access (VPN): For remote access over the internet, a VPN router is used to build a private network, ensuring security. This requires assigning a fixed global IP address or URL to the VPN router and configuring IP addresses for the Central Station EX and the remote PC.
- IP Address Setting: Users need to configure the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway for the Central Station EX and the PC running the Remote Access software. It's crucial to ensure IP addresses do not conflict within the same network. Instructions are provided for both Windows 7® and Windows 10® operating systems.
- Starting Remote Access: After installation and network configuration, the software is launched by double-clicking its shortcut icon. Users then tap the settings icon, select "Edit," and enter the connection setting name (up to 16 characters) and the IP address of the Central Station EX.
- Security: Users are responsible for implementing adequate security measures for the network to prevent unauthorized access. This includes using secure networks with properly configured firewalls, physically independent or virtual networks (VLAN), and regular detection/removal of computer viruses.
Maintenance Features
- Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a troubleshooting table to address common issues such as software not starting, "Could not connect to the controller" messages, units not appearing on the monitor, or display not updating. Solutions involve checking software installation privileges, PC specifications, hard disk space, access addresses, LAN wiring, Central Station EX settings, communication bandwidth, and power status of the Central Station EX.
- Cleaning: The Central Station EX screen surface should be cleaned with a soft, dry, and clean cloth. For heavy dirt, a soft cloth soaked in a small amount of neutral detergent, squeezed dry, should be used, followed by wiping with a dry, soft cloth. Benzene, paint thinner, or surfactants should not be used for cleaning.
- Software Licensing: The document outlines the software licensing terms, indicating that the product incorporates multiple independent software modules with copyrights held by Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning and third parties. It also mentions the inclusion of free software modules, for which source code can be obtained, allowing reproduction, modification, and redistribution.
- System Maintenance: It is recommended to keep the manual in a safe place and contact the distributor or dealer for any questions or concerns. Regular updates for the PC are necessary, and arrangements should be made with the customer regarding computer maintenance periods.
