Overview

This document is an operation manual for HIYASU MULTISPLIT INVERTER air conditioners, specifically models ASE1297T12i, HS-9DT3AI, HS-12DT3AI, and HOS-27DT3AI. It provides instructions and information in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and English.

Function Description

The HIYASU MULTISPLIT INVERTER air conditioner is designed for use in hotels, business buildings, offices, and households. It features advanced converter technology and microcomputer control, allowing both indoor units to operate simultaneously or separately. The system offers cooling and heating functions (heating not available on cool-only units), as well as dehumidification and fan-only modes. It includes a wireless remote control for convenient operation and various protection functions to ensure safe and efficient use.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Models Covered: ASE1297T12i, HS-9DT3AI, HS-12DT3AI, HOS-27DT3AI.
  • Refrigerant Flow: Adjustable via an electronic expansion valve.
  • Compressor: Features a famous-brand frequency converter compressor for high cooling and heating capacity.
  • Indoor Noise: Minimized through optimized airflow system design, a four-folded evaporator, and a large diameter cross-flow fan.
  • Low-Voltage Operation: The system is operable under low-voltage conditions.
  • Defrosting: Effective and prompt defrosting to prevent cold drafts during heating.
  • Heating Performance: High heating effects are maintained even under extremely low temperatures.
  • Air Quality: Includes a system purging function to improve indoor air quality.
  • Grounding: Connected and safe to use.
  • Compressor Protection: Enabled to prevent damage.
  • Operating Conditions (Temperature Ranges):
    • Cooling: Indoor temperature 17°C or below, Outdoor temperature 18°C ~ 43°C.
    • Heating: Indoor temperature 30°C or below, Outdoor temperature -15°C ~ 24°C.
    • Operating outside these conditions may activate internal protection functions and reduce cooling/heating efficiency.

Usage Features

  • Remote Control: The primary method of operation. It allows selection of operating modes (AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT, FAN ONLY), temperature adjustment (17°C to 30°C), fan speed (AUTO, LOW, MED, HIGH), and timer programming. The remote control has a range of up to 8 meters to the indoor unit's receiver.
  • Manual Operation: A manual button on the display panel allows temporary operation in "COOL" mode if the remote control is misplaced or its batteries are exhausted. This mode is primarily for testing and should not be used for normal operation.
  • Airflow Direction Adjustment:
    • Vertical Airflow: Can be adjusted manually by moving the vertical louver. When the unit is operating, the horizontal louvers can also be adjusted by holding the left or right lever.
    • Horizontal Airflow: Adjusted using the remote control.
    • Automatic Swing: The SWING button on the remote control activates automatic louver movement. Pressing it again stops the function.
    • Precautions: Avoid manually moving vertical louvers to prevent malfunction. Do not operate with airflow directed downwards for extended periods in cooling or dry mode to prevent condensation.
  • Timer Mode: Allows programming of switch-on (TIMER ON) and switch-off (TIMER OFF) times up to 24 hours in advance. The remote control must be in a position to transmit signals correctly for the timer to function.
  • Lock Function: The LOCK button on the remote control locks all current settings, preventing accidental changes. Pressing it again unlocks the remote.
  • Reset Function: The RESET button cancels all current programming and returns the unit to its original default settings (clock to "0:00" flashing, AUTO mode, AUTO fan speed, 24°C temperature).
  • Display Panel Indicators: The indoor unit's display panel includes indicators for operation, timer, and defrost (DEF). These indicators provide visual feedback on the unit's status and any conflicting modes.
  • Mode Conflict: If multiple indoor units are operating simultaneously, a secondary unit cannot operate in a mode that conflicts with the primary unit (the unit started first). In such cases, the TIMER and DEF lamps on the secondary unit's display panel will flash.

Maintenance Features

  • Regular Cleaning:
    • Indoor Unit and Remote Control: Wipe with a dry cloth. For heavy dirt on the indoor unit, a damp cloth with cold water can be used. The front panel can be removed, washed with water, and dried with a soft cloth.
    • Air Filter: Should be cleaned regularly with water or a vacuum cleaner and allowed to dry in a ventilated place.
    • Anti-formol Filter: Washable with water and does not require replacement.
    • HEPA Filter: Should be replaced every 3-4 months. New HEPA filters can be purchased from a local dealer. Use a vacuum cleaner, not water, to clean the HEPA filter.
  • Pre-Operation Check (after long periods of inactivity):
    • Clean the air filter.
    • Ensure indoor and outdoor unit air inlets/outlets are not blocked.
  • Long-Term Storage Preparation:
    • Operate the unit in "FAN" mode for a period to dry it out.
    • Disconnect from the main power supply, turn off the circuit breaker, and remove batteries from the remote control.
    • Internal components of the outdoor unit should be inspected and cleaned regularly by a service technician.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a table of common problems, their causes, and solutions. Users are advised not to attempt electrical repairs or air conditioner repairs themselves.
  • After-Sales Service: In case of abnormal operation, users should turn off and unplug the unit, then contact their local dealer.
