4.3 Tyre pressure
Theinationpressureofalltyresshouldbecheckedapprox.
every4weeksandbeforeyougoonlongerjourneys.
The following applies when checking ination pressure:
• Checkthepressureonlywhenthetyreiscold(alsorefer
toTable12.2TyreInationPressure).
• Ifcheckingorcorrectingthepressureofawarmtyre,the
pressuremustbe0.3barhigherthanforacoldtyre.

Ifthepressureistoolow,thismaycauseoverheatingofthe
tyre,possiblyresultinginseveredamagetothetyre.

forthebasicvehicle.
4.4 Tread depth
Replaceyourtyresassoonasthetreaddepthisonly1.6mm.
Tyre manufacturers‘ recommendations
• Irrespectiveoftheirtreaddepth,tyresshouldbechanged
every6years.
• Avoidhardimpactsagainstcurbs,potholesorother
obstacles.
Tyresageeveniftheyareusedseldomornotatall.
Tyresmaynotbeexchangedcrosswise,i.e.fromtherightside
ofthevehicletotheleftandviceversa.
Theminimumtreaddepthgivesyouonlythebarestamountof
safetywhiledriving.Thefollowingrecommendationsmustbe
observed:
Safetylimitinsummer:3.0mm
Safetylimitinwinter:4.0mm
