The battery (1) is in the battery
compartment under the seat.
Removal:
1. Make sure the ignition switch is OFF.
2. Remove the seat (page 42).
3. Disconnect the negative (−) terminal
lead (2) from the battery.
4. Disconnect the positive (+) terminal lead
(3) from the battery.
5. Release the battery holder band (4) from
the hook, then remove the battery
taking care not to drop the terminal nuts.
Installation:
1. Reinstall in the reverse order of removal.
Be sure to connect the positive (+)
terminal first, then the negative (−)
terminal.
2. Check all bolts and other fasteners are
secure.

(4) Battery holder band
