5. GENERATOR USE
l To prevent electrical shock from faulty appliances, make sure all
appliances are in good working order before connecting them to the
generator.
l Connections for standby power to a building’s electrical system must
be made by a qualified electrician and must comply with all applicable
laws and electrical codes. Improper connections can allow electrical
current from the generator to backfeed into the utility lines. Such
backfeed may electrocute utility company workers or others who
contact the lines during a power outage, and when utility power is
restored, the generator may explode, burn, or cause fires in the
building’s electrical system.
GROUND TERMINAL
l Limit operation requiring never exceed the maximum power.
Maximum power is:
6.5 kVA
For continuous operation, do not exceed the rated power of:
5.5 kVA for more than 30 minutes.
In either case, the total wattage of all appliances connected must be
considered.
l Most motorized appliance require more than their rated wattage for
startup.
l Do not exceed the current limit specified for any out put.
NOTE:
You can determine an appliance’s VA (volt amp) rating by multiplying its
required voltage by the amount of current (amps) it draws.
