The following figure is a graphical representation of the Runway Field

EXCESSIVE RATE OF DESCENT ALERTING AND
WARNING
The GA-EGPWS uses both GPS Vertical Velocity and pressure altitude
to compute vertical velocity information when the aircraft does not pro-
vide specific air data for this purpose. In either case, when the aircraft is
descending toward terrain at a high rate for its relative altitude above ter-
rain, the system will provide alerting and warning to the pilot. This func-
tion is always active.
