• The optional key-switch and
the function keys (F1 and
F2) can be used for a
number of functions. The
use of these keys is
programmed by the installer
/ commissioning engineer.
• Typical applications are as
follows:
Key-Switch
Function
Keys
7.1 Key-Switch
• The key-switch can be programmed to enable Level 2 access, provide a ‘class change’ input or
provide a ‘bomb alert’ input.
• If the key-switch is configured to provide Level 2 access, insert the key and turn clockwise. All Level 2
functions are now available and the entry of the pass-code is not requested. The key is trapped in the
lock in this position and cannot be removed. To turn off Level 2 access, turn the key anti-clockwise
and remove.
• If the key-switch is programmed for ‘class change’ or ‘bomb alert’ functions, insert the key and turn
clockwise. The sounders / bells will ring as programmed whilst the key is in this position. Turn the key
anti-clockwise and remove to silence the sounders / bells.
7.2 Function Keys
• The function keys (F1 & F2) can be programmed to act as a ‘class change’ input or a ‘bomb alert’
input or to switch the detection mode on/ off. The function keys require Level 2 access and the display
will prompt for entry of the pass-code before the action is performed (alternatively, insert and turn the
key if the key-switch is programmed to provide Level 2 access).
• For class change and bomb alert, press the button once to turn on the sounders / bells and then press
the button again to turn off the sounders / bells.
• For ‘detection mode’ use, each press will turn on (start) or turn off (end) the operation of the detection
mode function (refer to section
5.3.5.5 for further information).
